      Up for auction is this RAMONES - Pleasant Dreams LP. This was the Ramones' 6th studio album
which was originally released on July 20th, 1981. The recording process for this album brought about
much  tension  &  conflict  between  band  members.  It was partially due to Dee Dee's drug addiction.
Additionally, Marky  & Joey were both developing alcohol problems.  There  were also disputes about
the  overall  genre  of  the  album  with  Johnny  leaning towards the classic hard rock riffs  with Punk
overtones  &  Joey being vocally inspired by the catchy rhythms of Pop music mixed with the sounds
of  New Wave.  But  the  most  notable  strife which caused tension  was the factthat Johnny started
dating Joey's  ex-girlfriend.  During early  stages of the album's development, Joey was dating a girl
named  Linda Danielle.  After  the  album  was  released,  she  left  Joey  &  started  dating  Johnny.
Needless to say, Joey was devestated as it affected him deeply. Johny knew it was bad, so he kept
Linda  hidden  from there on in.  She  didn't  come  to  many  of their shows, but when she did, she
would  hide  out  in the back  & Johnny would run out to see her for a bit , then return backstage to
the band.  Joey  carried  a  strong grudge against them both.  But despite this,  the two musicians
continued to perform on stage with the band and  would go long periods without speaking a word
to  one  another.  Johnny  would  go  on  to  marry  Linda  in  1984.
     
This  particula  copy  you  are  bidding  on  is  a U.S. Repress from 1983(?) The outer cardboard
jacket is in  EXCELLENT  condition  or better with the original plastic shrinkwrap still on  it.  The
inner paper sleeve is in FINE condition with some light wear. The vinyl album is in  NEARMINT
condition & has only been played about 3 or 4 times.
