HORACE SILVER QUINTET “Song For My Father” RVG, P, Blue Note BST 84185 Stereo Vinyl This is the 1965, first edition, “VAN GELDER” stamped, “P” pressing of HORACE SILVER QUINTET’s “Song For My Father” on the "New York USA” labels of Blue Note BST 84185. Musicians include Horace Silver – piano, Blue Mitchell – trumpet (ensemble), Junior Cook – tenor saxophone (ensemble), Gene Taylor – bass, Roy Brooks – drums. VINYL plays with consistent medium level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, 静的 or うるさい, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Very Good gloss. Handful of non-feelable hairline marks. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, spindle marks. See photos. COVER is in ok shape. Corners worn. Ringwear. Much scarring. Spine split end to end. Top seam partially split. Bottom seam, cracking. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear. Please see photos. This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system.
