Beatles Genuine 1966 Stereo ST 2553 Butcher Cover Professionally Peeled

This is our first beautiful Stereo offering in quite a while.  These are scarce in this condition.

You are bidding on a genuine 1966 3rd State (peeled) Stereo example of arguably the most desired collectible rock record in existence. Stereo covers are at least 5 to 10 times more scarce than their mono counterparts according to Capitol production records. Stereo was not yet in demand as much as mono in 1966 and far less were produced. Also, collectors find this cover most desirable due to the colorful dramatic stereo banner at the top.

This is the perfect example to professionally frame with the removed trunk slick.

This Butcher Cover package is a first time offering that includes the removed trunk slick in one piece and framable condition and a Scranton inner sleeve and Scranton Stereo record.. Additionally, you will receive a Certificate Of Authenticity  and an additional package of cool freebies related to the Butcher Cover that you will find nowhere else.  Please see the description section for specific condition details.

Nearly all offerings seen on the net including ones claiming to be "mint" , show up with visible damage to the Butcher image.  This is not the case here !

Gorgeous and vibrant colors. This is an excellent peel with a first state look. This presents right up there with any jacket we have offered in the past with some minor condition issues but also still easily rates in the top 5% regarding quality of any peeled Stereo Butcher Covers offered for sale .Capitol factory pasteover glue lines/residue is very  light on this.  The glue used by Capitol in 1966 Stereo covers can be notoriously tacky and difficult to remove completely. This is an excellent stereo peel. Surely a cover that you will cherish. Please check out the up close photo for the great detail of this peel.

Seams  and spine are not great on this one .  Several inches of cracking of the top and bottom seams with paper chipping/missing. Spine not quite as bad with an inch or so of paper missing around the word "Yesterday" which removed some of the print . Most of the other writing is there but there is an inch or so more of missing paper and another small chip missing at the very bottom of the spine (See Spine photo). The seams have been neatly and professionally secured to protect from any further damage. As a result, nobody should ever attempt to place a record inside this jacket. Back of jacket is clean with less than average wear ,some light tanning and some discoloration spots on the very top and bottom of the jacket. Nothing unusual for a more than 50 year old jacket !

We are including the Scranton Stereo record and inner sleeve that came in with this. Vinyl appears in fair to good shape with VG labels with some scuffs and scratches throughout (not play graded). Correct Scranton 1966 goldenrod inner sleeve included. The trunk slick is also included and is the exact slick that was peeled from this jacket and is in one piece and could be framed (see photo).  Trunk slicks in one solid piece are not all that common in the peeling field.

It should be emphasized that Butcher Covers of this quality and grade, especially Stereo editions, are highly desired by collectors and are genuinely scarce in this condition.

This item is an original 1966 3rd State (Peeled) used example of the legendary Butcher Cover. This item is guaranteed to be authentic and not a reproduction or bootleg. Purchaser understands that this is a used item and therefore we request that that all photos be clearly examined prior to bidding. Given the fact that this item has been professionally peeled and altered from a 2nd state (unpeeled) condition to a 3rd state (peeled) example, this item has condition elements that reflect the process of treatment of the item when it was glued at the Capitol factory in 1966 as well as conditional elements from the actual peeling process. These elements generally involve mild glue lines that were made at the pressing plant when the trunk cover was pasted over but also include some minor issues from the removal process. This is not a new item but a used one that has been restored through a tedious and careful process. If you have any questions regarding condition, please feel free to contact us prior to bidding.

We have been restoring and selling genuine Beatles Butcher Covers for over three decades and our customers range from well known celebrities and galleries  to the everyday collector.  We have contributed to television/radio shows, collectible books and have displays in  many of the best record guide books including "The Price Guide For The Beatles American Records" By Perry Cox and Frank Daniels.  We are one of the only sellers on Ebay that can say that they are the direct source of their genuine Butcher Covers. In other words, we don't send our Butcher Covers out to others who provide peeling services but actually supervise all work that is performed on the Butcher Covers that we sell.  Our COA reflects not only the authenticity of the item but the actual chain of custody regarding the 2nd state cover and the peeling process.

We offer professional packing and you will receive all items packed in archival quality crystal clear resealable sleeves.

Thanks and Good Luck !
