For auction, one lot of six Jimi Hendrix vinyl LPs, released in the early to mid '70s to capitalize on his death and short-lived recording career. Three were packaged with other artists to, aah, fill the record.
These are "Jimi Hendrix/Little Richard -Together", "Otis Redding/The Jimi Hendrix Experience" (from the '67Monterrey Pop Festival) and "Get That Feeling - Jimi Hendrix Plays &Curtis Knight Sings". The vinyl for all three is in Excellent condition with very minimal surface noise limited to the run-in and run-out grooves and between the tracks. The music plays virtually as clean as when these records were released. Concerning the covers,I would rate all three as Excellent as well, however, the spine for all three have significant shredding, from scratching by the original owner's cats. He stored his collection spine up in crates and allowed his masters to lounge on top. The shredding DOES NOT extend to the actual vinyl, nor are there any urine or cigarette stains or smells. The Hendrix & Knight record does have typical ring wear, while all five of the other records are remarkably free it.
Concerning the three pure Hendrix records, included are "Rare Hendrix", "Midnight Lightning" and "Jimi Hendrix At His Best Volume 1". I would rate the covers for these as Excellent, looking almost like they were only recently purchased (all six albums were bought by the original owner during the 1970s upon release or soon after). However, all three do have shredding of the spine. The vinyl for "At His Best" grades Excellent,"Rare Hendrix" as Very Good and "Midnight Lightning" as Good, it having more surface noise than any of the other records.
The original owner generally took good care of his records(other than the cats of course) and played them on a top of the line Empire turntable. I've cleaned them using a Spin Clean. Each will ship with archival sleeves and jacket covers. Information about these albums can be found online at the AllMusicGuide - www.allmusic.com, so I won't take up space here. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions.
