*PLEASE IGNORE THE ABOVE "Auction under construction...." TEXT!!! LISTING NOW COMPLETE - ALL DETAILS BELOW!!!*
Hi, and welcome to psych_out! auctions!!!
I've collected 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Psych, Prog, Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Rhythm 'n' Blues, Pop, Folk, Garage, Acid, Freakbeat, Rock, Jazz e.t.c and everything in between for all my life!!! Obviously, 90% of the LP's I've ever gotten hold of are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? Reluctantly, I've decided to offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!! I'm currently trying to set up a record label so unfortunately personal sacrifices have to be made when it comes to my collection, resulting in GREAT benefits for all you shrewd bidders and serious connosieurs of TRUE solid gold music history out there!!! Make no mistake, I'll try my best to consistently offer some of the VERY BEST records available on ebay, many which have taken me YEARS to find!!!
I aim to put a weekly batch up (time permitting) every Wednesday, all timed to end 10 days later on Saturday night. I'll only ever offer THE BESTMOST AMAZINGMOST IMPORTANTVERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I've got!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered",weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I try to be one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically using the UK RRPG standards as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and I'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!

Title : The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland

Label & year : Black Track 2657 001 Double LP , Original Stereo UK 1968 Pressing!!!

Matrix's : Side A : 613008 A // 1, Side B (D) : 613008 B v 2 420 , Side C (B) : 613009 A v 2 420 , Side D (C) : 613009 B // 2

A FANTASTIC RARELY PLAYED EXAMPLE OF THIS IMPOSSIBLY RARE SOLID GOLD CLASSIC!!! HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A TRULY SCARCE PILLAR OF MUSIC HISTORY IN FANTASTIC CONDITION!!! Do not miss out on this masterpiece, bid now!!!

DON'T underestimate the sheer rarity of this black Track original 1968 press!!! Yes, this doesn't have the impossibly rare blue text or inverted matrixes on the labels, but only a MINISCULE amount of the first chart run EVER did!!!

Once they sold out VERY quickly, this second batch of this classic album was swiftly pressed up to cash in on the interest, and to try and extend the fading chart run at the time!!! The ONLY way to distinguish this from the initial run is the upside down matrix missing from the labels - in virtually EVERY other respect, this is basically a 1st with the same identical magnificent quality of sound taken from the original Hendrix approved master that seemed to be somewhat lacking from the 70's red Polydor re-issues!!!

Just like any of the Hendrix experience albums, this is one of THE BEST of all time containing some of THE GREATEST music EVER recorded!!! Widely know as his masterpiece, the first two Experience LP's were recorded in a matter of days, this however took around a year!!! (a heck of a long time in those days) It was worth it though. It could so easily have fallen apart like many painstaking works of genius (such as Brian Wilson's unfinished legendary Beach Boys classic SMiLE), but he stuck with it and created a work of pure brilliance which has and will continue to transcend ALL time! If you've never heard Hendrix's original master mix and only the CD reissue, then you're going to be blown away!!! This has got incredible psychedelic effects, MEAN bass and razor sharp lifelike clarity and detail!!! And when Hendrix is jamming on songs like the long bluesy version of Voodoo Chile and Rainy Day, it sounds incredibly intimate as it floats over the backing band, JUST like his amp is in the room!!!

It's easy to forget just how amazing this LP is what with "Experience Hendrix" doing their best to milk him dry with endless thrown together "Best Of's" over the years. But it was here on this Track original blasting out of my speakers now where the world first heard "Crosstown Traffic",Long Hot Summer Night",Gipsy Eyes",Burning Of The Midnight Lamp",All Along The Watchtower",Voodoo Chile",and all the rest, not to mention the phenomenal boundary breaking "1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" for the very first time, as they intended to be heard, all in perfect running order, and all as one piece. It has forever secured it's place in the top 10 greatest albums of all time, and there it shall remain until the world blows up!!!

Until that moment? Well, we should all listen to his records and be thankful that Jimi Hendrix was born!!!

Tracklist : And The Gods Made Love, Electric Ladyland, Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Chile, Little Miss Strange, Long Hot Summer Night, Come On (Let The Good Times Roll), Gipsy Eyes, Burning Of The Midnight Lamp, Rainy Day Dream Away, 1983 (A Merman I Should Turn To Be), Moon Turn The Tides...Gently Gently Away, Still Raining Still Dreaming, House Burning Down, All Along The Watchtower, and Voodoo Chile (Slight Return).

Musicians : Jimi Hendrix - Vocals / Guitar / Bass / Harpsichord, Noel Redding - Vocals / Bass, Mitch Mitchell - Drums, plus countless other guests such as Stevie Winwood, Brian Jones, Al Kooper e.t.c.

About : Ultra Rare 1968 UK Original Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP initially sold barely anything (LP's were also really expensive to most people back then!!!) and therefore had a very small run, and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP!!! If you like good music, bid now!!!

The LP :

Labels :

Classic UK Original black Track labels!!! All sides are OUTSTANDING with NO real signs of age, NO graffiti, and NO writing OR tears whatsoever!!! Just has a small amount of ultra light spindle marks which suggests that this has barely had much play at all!!! FANTASTIC for a 51 year old record!!! Both must grade overall at least as Excellent!!!

Record : Visual -

Spectacular Original UK 1968 Black Track Vinyls!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if they were just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, they look FANTASTIC with NO really nasty scratches, groovewear, or nasty deep scuffs whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just some light wispy sleeve traces, only a few mild hairlines and age marks, and just a small amount of cosmetic non-sounding and unfeelable scuffs (only visible in direct angled light) mostly caused from where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! Of course, none of these ULTRA light blemishes really interfere with play AT ALL thanks to the deeply pressed quality!!! AWESOME for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall as Excellent (LP 1) and Very Good+ (LP 2)!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Record : Audio -

Thankfully, it plays AMAZINGLY with fantastic stereo separation and clarity!!! It really sounds incredible with NO hisses, hops, distortion, skips OR sticks!!! Only like pretty much ALL records has just a small amount of ultra light ticks on very rare occasions, and possibly just the MEREST TOUCH of low level static in the rarest few and far between places such as on the run in grooves and between some tracks, but that's truly about it!!! The vast, vast, majority of the music is TRULY crystal clear - It really does play with a CD-like near 100% black silence, but with that bass, depth, clarity and warmth you can only get from original UK 1st Press vinyl!!! EVEN the vast majority of the quiet sections!!! Absolutely ESSENTIAL!!! ASTONISHING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall audibly at least as Excellent++ (sides 1, 2 and 4) and Very Good++++ (side 3)!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

Sleeve :

Original UK fully laminated 1968 gatefold E.J Day white text sleeve complete with original unsplit inners!!! IMPOSSIBLE to find this sleeve in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT, and looks FANTASTIC, especially considering the nature of these fragile sleeves!!! NO writing, NO graffiti, NO splits, NO really bad marks AT ALL, and still ULTRA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has a few signs of minor ageing such as a small amount of light creasing and a mere hint of a record imprint, only a hint of general ultra light surface glazing in few and far between places here and there from where it has sat between sleeves over the years (truly minimal - absolutely nothing drastic whatsoever) with a little sunfading to the spine from storage, a touch of denting to the four corners which basically ALL vintage LP's have, and POSSIBLY (just to be sure!!!) one or two other minor signs of age here and there, though nothing that really stands out to note at all!!! And that's truly about it!!! I tend to bring it down by listing the most minor negatives I can possibly find, but this remains a MAGNIFICENT sleeve, and a TRUE rarity to find one as fantastic as this - most have been virtually destroyed or are just about being held together, but not this one!!! The awesome inside pics also look AMAZING with barely ANY ageing whatsoever!!! It remains ultra strong, solid, unsplit and unspoilt, and despite a little fading, even the spine remains ultra strong, solid, unworn and totally unsplit!!! Must grade overall at the very least as Very Good++!!! (graded STRICTLY to the UK RRPG standards, not trashed or overgraded AT ALL!!! Customer satisfaction is of 100% importance to me)

*Sorry for not having a photo of the front - ebay won't let me!*

Summary : A truly FANTASTIC barely played example of this iconic INCREDIBLY RARE classic UK Original Track LP!!! Hard to find in ANY condition, but IMPOSSIBLY RARE TO FIND ONE AS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AS THIS!!! YOU MAY NEVER GET THE CHANCE AGAIN, so don't miss out on this scarce opportunity to own a true piece of 60's/70's music history!!! Bid now!!!

Please take a look at all my other auctions for many other ultra rare classic LPs, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks again for looking, it's truly appreciated!! Cheers!!!

I've realized that most countries have their own unique grading system. I base mine strictly on the UK RRPG grading system (occasionally with a + or a - to indicate the higher and lower ends of the grade, though I only use these if i'm having real trouble deciding!), so please check their chart for further clarity if you are unsure of what my grades mean. As a general rule, a mint record will be 100% perfect, an excellent record will be in fantastic clean condition with the occasional mild mark and minor use from the years, and a very good record will have noticeable, yet light visual markings and obvious signs of age and use, but will still remain clean with relatively light wear and will play fantastically well with plenty of life remaining in it. I very rarely offer records below the very good region unless they are of an EXCEPTIONAL rarity and playing quality...I hope this helps!
