Between when she was a pre-teen sensation, and when she was tabloid fodder due to her continually tumultuous relationship with Glen Campbell, Tanya Tucker made a credible grab for cross-over success before that was commonplace.  

Tucker rocks hard on this album’s cornerstone; “Heartbreak Hotel” which has guitars (by Billy Joe Walker, Jr. and Jerry Swallow) that scream louder than even today’s “new country” songs.  Taking a cue from Linda Ronstadt, she dips into Chuck Berry’s and Buddy Holly’s  songbooks as well—to great effect!  

Tanya’s joined by John Prine on his Angel From Montgomery, as well as Seals and Crofts, and her little sister LaCosta Tucker.  Former Ikette, Blackberries singer Venetta Fields is also on one cut, as is Phil Everly!

A consistent, solid album throughout, that has a gatefold center with a very sexy photo of Tanya in it.
