Below is the album surface grading scale that we use. We rate very conservatively, so be assured that you will receive a product that adheres to the grading scale.
Album/Outer Sleeve Grading Scale:
SEALED = Factory sealed album.
If the album sleeve has any damage, it will be noted in the posting.
M (MINT)= Album is free of surface scuffs, hairline scratches and has a glossy finish. What one would expect from a newly opened album.
Sleeve is free of any defects and looks new.
NM (NEAR MINT) = Album has one or two surface scuffs or very light hairline scratches that precludes it from "M". Surface noises (pops/clicks) are also minimal.
Sleeve has no defects, with the exception of slight corner wear.
NM- (NEAR MINT MINUS) = A few more scuffs and/or hairline scratches than "NM" and highly collectible.
Sleeve may have some minor spine wear along with corner wear, but with no signs of ring wear.
VG+ (VERY GOOD PLUS) = Incrementally more surface scuffs/hairline scratches/noise than NM-, but still a collectible album.
Sleeve may show slightly more signs of age than NM- (light foxing / ring wear / spine wear), but no seam splits or other physical damage.
VG (VERY GOOD) = Incrementally more surface scuffs/hairline scratches than VG+, with more noticeable surface noise than VG+. Still a very enjoyable listening experience and a great addition to your collection.
Sleeve may have slight corner crushing with moderate foxing, ring and spine wear.
VG- (VERY GOOD MINUS) = A fair (but in no way heavy) amount of surface scuffs/hairline scratches that come with a commensurate amount of surface noise, but still a very listenable and enjoyable experience at a great price point.
Sleeve may have moderate corner crushing, heavier ring / spine wear and foxing than "VG", with minor seam splits. If the album sleeve has damage such as writing, liquid spills, heavy corner crushing, etc., it will be noted in the post.
No records below "VG-" are sold on this site.
P (POOR) = This grading is only for sleeves that are below "VG-". Please use the pictures provided in the post to gauge the quality of the sleeve.
