Superb one-owner (me aside) copy of the classic 1973 UK Harvest LP by Pink Floyd, ‘The Dark Side of The Moon’, SHVL 804, A-2/B-2 Matrix Suffixes, a UK FIRST PRESSING, with solid blue prism design label and in wonderful condition.

Original blue/black gatefold Matt sleeve is in amazing shape. It has a few very light edge creases at the bottom edge, and two on the top edge, these visible on the back, plus just one on the spine, visible on the front. There is a little, barely visible, ringwear evident on the front at the bottom due, and the back, top edge. One very tiny corner crush at opening edge bottom right, again very minor. Very clean, colour superb, and the sleeve has a wonderful structure, no flattening of spine, for example. The sleeve appears very seldom handled and, due to this, has come into my hands in astonishingly well-preserved condition. However, the previous owner decided to preserve the 2 stickers included with the set by sticking one to the front and one to the back. I could attempt to remove these and obtain replacements, but feel that this would detract from the original ‘one-owner’ nature of the album. It is otherwise a superb sleeve that would, under normal circumstances grade EX+. I still think that, despite the stickers, it deserves an EX grade.

Posters have a little handling/unfolding evidence, but never pinned, no blu-tack and in excellent condition.

Vinyl is flat, no warp, and plays very strongly indeed, lovely, clear stereo audio. ‘Money’ plays through with no evidence of the apparent pressing fault that is reported on these first pressings, and it’s clear that this LP has not been played very much at all. There is a little crackle at the start of each side which soon dissipates, and a little faint surface noise during ‘Us and Them’, where there is a light line evident (pictured). There are just a few of the very faintest tiny hairlines, which appear not to affect stunning audio. There is the very occasional very light dust click and light surface noise in quieter parts, but this does not detract from an extremely enjoyable listen to one of England’s finest truly progressive bands! Overall, the vinyl certainly grades at least EX.

This is certainly the best copy I have seen of this wonderful record, and I will pack very securely to ensure safe shipping.

I will combine shipping costs, so please check my other listings.
