Fresh Blueberry Pancake “Heavy” Record RARE Only 54 Printed Played Once. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
This is one of ONLY 54 albums printed by Fresh Blueberry Pancake from Pittsburgh PA in 1970. This is my second and last album of its kind and I had initially planned on keeping it for keepsake. But the success of the first sale back in July has prompted me to sell this one too.
This is even more rare than most in that it has the large FRESH BLUEBERRY PANCAKE “HEAVY” bright orange sticker on it. There were only a handful of the original 54 printed that had this sticker on it. The first one I sold did not have this sticker.
I am the cousin of John Behrens, one of the founding members of the band. I lived with John during the years that the band was active, and had the pleasure of hearing them practice every week where we lived.
John gave this album directly to me when I was young.
Included with the album is one of the business cards that the band used. I have also included some photos that I had stored with this album in the listing (for show only). These were promotional photos for the band. The photos are ONLY shown to corroborate the story of my growing up with John. The photos DO NOT go with the album in any way, and are only shown for reference.
The outside album cover shows some signs of wear from storage (this has been in storage since around 1982). The most notable signs of wear are in the bottom right hand corner as shown in the pictures. It has a small, slightly raised area in that corner. The orange sticker also shows some signs of wear from storage.
The original plain white album sleeve is in very nice condition with a little yellowing around the edges.
The album itself is a very thick and heavy type of album. The labels are in pretty good condition with some wear, especially in the areas of the album indentation near the center. There is also some bleeding of the original label words. Please see closeups in the pictures.
The album has some smudges and possible scratches on both sides. Nothing looks very deep in any way. I also do not clean albums before sale as I leave that up to the purchaser to do in the way they see fit. This may get rid of many of the smudges. It still looks shiny and I doubt it was played much.
From the Discogs site, here is some information about the album and band:
A Power-Trio from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, USA, founded in 1968, by comprising singer/bassist Tony Impavido, guitarist John Behrens (2), and drummer Geoff Rydell. The Band recorded multi-pal demo tapes through the late 60’s, and very early 70’s, and in 1970, they released their only album, Heavy. Only 54 original copies were ever pressed, and they are considerably rare and hard to find, especially among collectors and fans. The band disbanded in 1972.
This is a rare find album. Please research as needed and ask any questions that you may have.
I carefully ship all of my albums using customized mailers, bubble wrap, and cardboard inserts. Because of the value of this item, it will be shipped in a much larger box that will be heavily padded with multiple layers of protection. I do not want to take any chances on this shipping. This album has sentimental value to me and I want to ensure that it arrives safely.
Thank you for the inquiries.
