U-Men rare 1984 Grunge 12" 45rpm PLUS 2017 Box Set. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.  "The U-Men have nothing to do with Grunge." Mark Arm, 2017. But they had everything to do with the Seattle scene that was encapsulated by the term Grunge. They were an amazing band that, along with The Blackouts, crafted a sound and approach, then then what happens in Seattle and then what becomes associated with a Seattle sound, doesn't occur without their artistic influence and example. Further, they managed to get a record out, on vinyl, 12 inches of music. Suddenly it was possible. There are 4 vinyl records for sale here. 1 is from 1984 and was put out by Bruce Pavitt on Bombshelter Records. The other 3 bring together most of the U-Men's recorded output, including the Bombshelter EP, a single that came out on Black Label Records (Black Label and Bombshelter share an origin story in Bombshelter Records the record store, which closed and then the employees opened Fallout Records in Seattle, Black Label was a label based out of Fallout basically, which was where you went when you needed boards, trucks, comics and records in 1987), a record that came out on Homestead called Stop Spinning, plus more. So, just in case someone is keyword searching: Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, Soundgarden, Skin Yard, Malfunkshun, Green River, Pearl Jam, etc. Before anyone was paying attention to Seattle, people were paying attention to the U-Men (and the Young Fresh Fellows, but that kind of digression won't help you here, I only mention that because by the Fall of 85 they were hitting CMJ playlists across the country). How about its 1977, and The Cramps meet Pere Ubu at an Iggy Pop concert.
Anyway: the box set: A perfect condition slip case, each vinyl record in its own sleeve, and an informative 12x12 booklet with lovely pictures of the old days. Tracks from the box set:
