Kayak ‎"Kayak"  Harvest ‎SHSP 4036  UK 1st press Vinyl, LP, released in 1974.
The vinyl appears to have been lightly played and is in great condition. It played through beautifully on my elderly stereo - no hop, stick or jump. The sleeve, similarly, shows minimal signs of wear and is also in great shape - no rips or writing. The spine and upper edge, which are both printed, are both intact and legible. Kayak is a Dutch progressive rock band formed in 1972 in the city Hilversum by Ton Scherpenzeel and Pim Koopman. In 1973, their debut album "See See The Sun" was released, including three hit singles. Their popularity was mainly in the Netherlands, with their top hit (Ruthless Queen) reaching No. 6 on the Dutch charts in March 1979. They disbanded in 1982 after releasing nine albums.
In 1999 the band was asked to perform on the TV show De Vrienden van Amstel Live. After this performance, they decided to reform, and released nine further studio albums and three live albums.
Kayak is the  band's second album, originally released in 1974. At first, the title was to be "His Master's Noise". But the band expected problems with the record label "His Master's Voice" (HMV), and so they chose simply for "Kayak". The album is also known as "Kayak II" and "Alibi" (after its first track).
The song "Wintertime" was the only single release from this album. "Serenades" was the b-side for the single "We Are Not Amused".
The self-isolating measures in the UK mean that I am unable to access my local post office. I am therefore using a courier service for the foreseeable future.
