This is the original analog of "American Prayer" by the Doors.  The record contains spoken word narration by Jim Morrison with background music by the original Doors band members.  Robbie, Ray and Dennis play along with Jim's voice.  The record is a virtual poetry recital by Jim Morrison.  Some of the words you will recognize as lyrics from The Doors released song material.   Released in 1978, after Jim's death, it was a warm welcome by Doors fans.  There are some live snippets from Doors concerts as well, along with a live rendition of Roadhouse Blues.

This album helped to promote the legacy of Jim Morrison long after his premature death.

Not really like a Doors album on par with say, "L.A. Woman," nevertheless, a surreal insight into the genius of Morrison and the Doors.

The vinyl record looks almost new and was printed on the later version of the "Red" Elektra label.

Custom booklet with cool photos of Jim and the band, along with full lyrics.

This is a rare "Columbia House Record Club" edition.  As the album did not sell as well as other Doors albums, it was most likely only offered for a short time as a Columbia House release.

Columbia House was the premiere vinyl record mail order club of the 1970's.  They had special permission from various artist to distribute the album.  Some fans say that the mix or final master of record club editions may be slightly different.  Listen and you be the judge.
