Cat # SKL 4838 ZAL 7517 - IW ( I D::) / ZAL 7518 - IW ( I BK )
Here we have an original 1969 UK 1st Pressing on the boxed decca label / Initial 1st pressing were unboxed decca labels and released a couple of years previous of this issue. However the same covers used to house the unboxed vinyls were also used to house the genuine 1969 boxed vinyls. Beautiful example of this export release and complete with the original dated inner sleeve ! The Vinyl looks and plays like it has just come from the store !!! Amazing Example , not many that have survived as well as this little gem. As like several other listings, this has been in storage for the last 40+ years !
COVER : M-
This is the original front laminated single wallet type cover as issued to housed the un-boxed 1st presses from a couple of years earlier ! Stunning example with high glossy laminate, strong square spine and corners and nothing more to fault than a very faint mark on the back upper left corner , which was probably where the export sticker used to be .
VINYL : M- /M-
Both sides have been play graded and carefully inspected under strong lighting and there are no audio distractions detected on either side , little dust in the grooves was detected on the quieter passes but not worth mentioning and will be deleted if cleaned. Gleaming playing surfaces with no blemishes or scratches visible, looks amazing , under strong lighting there are a couple of the usual unavoidable very fine wispy papersleeve removal lines but these are extremely hard to see and impossible to avoid ! Easy to see and hear that this has been very well cared for and treated with the up most respect on the odd occasion when it has been played.Top Example.
INNER: EX-
Correct issued inner with correct date , couple of storage creases but nothing more .
LABELS : M -
Super clean and bright set , with no faults or spindle traces ! 1st variants of the new designed labels from decca , which were only produced during 1969 /70 before the 2nd boxed variants were made .
GRADINGS :
FOR COVERS / INNERS / INSERTS ETC ... SEE INDIVIDUAL DESCRIPTION !
BELOW ARE GRADE INDICATORS FOR VINYL ( S )
MINT- or M- / NM is superb , highest grade of item that is not still sealed , almost like new. No marks, scratches, clicks, noise, or anything else, aside from possibly a barely visible and inaudible hairline or two. All minor blemishes will be mentioned in the individual descriptions.
EX or EXCELLENT is also VERY nice, 2-3 light inaudible marks/hairlines perhaps, no disturbing noise, great sound quality.
VG or VERY GOOD is nice with light hairlines , maybe light handling marks or the odd thin scratch / fingernail line.
G or GOOD Well used but still a worthy item to have. See individual notes on the item in question.
Also + or - ( Plus or Minus ) may be used as an indicator on grade !
