Wow! The Soft Machine’s debut record is a fantastic combo of psych, jazz, and early prog rock! Featuring Robert Wyatt and Kevin Ayers, listening to this lp you can see why they toured the US with Jimi Hendrix and frequently shared the stage at the famed UFO Club in London with Pink Floyd. This is the super rare first U.S. pressing from 1968 which features the cool spinning wheel on the front cover and the uncensored (no bikini!) image of a young lady on the gatefold sleeve.
Condition is VG+. It is a pretty damn clean copy for its age. I played it (loud) recently and it’s still a winner with just a few minor pops. Gatefold sleeve is in VG to VG+ condition, there is a small hole punch on upper right front corner which goes through to the back and just the slightest ring and corner wear (see photos). Overall for the age of this LP it’s a good one.
Lowish starting bid because I’m not a collector or a store, just want it to go to another fan who will love it.
