The Dell-Vikings were five young American Air Force men; Clarence Quick, Corinthian "Krips" Johnson, Chuck Jackson, Donald Backus & David Lerchey, who formed in 1955. In 1956, while stationed in Pittsburgh, they won a contest run by the Air Force—with the prize being a recording contract with Fee-Bee records, who licensed their records to Dot Records. These included the smash hits; Come Go With Me (a million seller in 1957) & Whispering Bells.
