This pressing honors Darnell “Murf” Murphy. It was the recording of Murf’s compilation album, in Sterling’s basement, that led to Boldy recording his first song as a teenager. Murf was a key figure in Detroit’s underground hip hop scene in the early 2000s. 🕊
