Up for sale is the legendary 1976 album, Mother Earth's Plantasia, composed by Mort Garson. A highly elusive and sought after record, these were only sold at the Mother Earth Boutique in 1970s Los Angeles, CA with the purchase of a plant! ...Or by purchasing a W. Simmons Mattress at any associated department store! Certainly an interesting story for a very interesting record.
This 10-Track Moog Masterpiece should be part of everyone's collection, and any serious record collector should have at least one original pressing! Could that collector be you? My personal favorites off this album include: Concerto for Philodendron & Pothos, Swinging Spathipyllums, and You Don't Have To Walk A Begonia.
Record will be shipped with a Record Mailer, included with an outer sleeve! All opened records will be placed outside of the jacket (with inner sleeve shown in the photos!) to prevent seam splits!
Now onto the main description...!
Please take a careful look at the provided photos before making your purchase!
I will try to describe the item to the best of my abilities, please note that I am only human (not a machine, nor plant) and might make mild mistakes in my descriptions. I do NOT put any solid grades on my records visually or sound-wise, if it can be helped, it will be play tested on my turntable and described to the best of my abilities! Visual grading alone is NOT a stand-in for sound quality.
Tested on a Fluance RT-82 with an Ortofon OM10 Stylus, with Klipsch Reference Speakers.
Contents:
Jacket: A somewhat worn jacket, the bottom is moderately split. The spine is still readable, if not slightly faded because of age. Both front and back are still clearly readable. The W. Simmons sticker has been taped back on, and the glue residue has discolored that particular part of the cover. There is a small scratched off price tag on the upper right corner. The bottom right corner is bent a bit, and has a small dent which is visible on both front and back.
Booklet: Booklet is in very good shape, everything is legible and clean. Pages are off-white. Labels: Some mild visible spindle markings, on each side but little to no damage of the actual label. Clean and legible.
Vinyl:
Side One: Persistent but mild surface noise and light pops. Very mild distortion on the last track. Side Two: Mild surface noise occurring on track one before lessening over a few minutes.
Overall: A nice listening copy of a legendary and phenomenal album. Much of the music drowns out the noise. May be in need of a deeper clean with some mild popping as an indication of trapped debris.
All prospective buyers and vinyl enthusiasts... Keep in mind:
- Be aware of your own setup and know just how well your own collection plays! -Some setups handle certain records better than others! Not all styli, turntables, speakers are the same!
-Cheaper turntables may not handle certain records well, resulting in unwanted skips!
-Sometimes cleaning up a record or replacing/changing your stylus helps with playback!
Please consider these factors before making your purchase! This item is sold as-is! No returns.
Thank you for looking!
