The Grateful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965. The band was known for it's unique style which fused elements of country, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, and rock. Live performances had lengthy instrumental jams, and their devoted fans were known as "Dead Heads". The band and it's fans (Dead Heads) are associated with the hippie movement. "What A Long Strange Trip It's Been" is their second compilation album, released in 1977 by Warner Bros. Records after the Grateful Dead left the label and started their own production. It is a double album released 3 1/2 years after the first compilation 'Skeletons From The Closet'. This second 'Best-of' release contains a larger compilation of tracks from the 1967 to 1972 period. Mostly studio tracks on disc one with all live tracks on disc two. 18-tracks of classic Dead songs. Some beautiful live tracks from the early 70's. Piece by piece there is excellence to be heard. On stage speaks to a different jamming nature of the band. The gatefold cover is in excellent condition. Both vinyl are in excellent condition. Warner Bros. #2W 3091, no barcode. Thank you for looking. (Grading Order: Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good+, Very Good, Good, etc...)
