"Alone" to łącznie ósmy album, zaś drugi w kolejności jaki został nagrany po reaktywacji niemieckiego duetu Modern Talking  w 1998, i wydany dotychczas na całym świecie wyłącznie w postaci płyty kompaktowej 22 lutego 1999 roku.

Jest to jednocześnie pierwszy album po powrocie Modern Talking na niemiecki rynek muzyczny zawierający szesnaście całkowicie nowych nagrań.

Jako album płyta odniosła olbrzymi sukces komercyjny zdobywając w 1999 roku czołowe miejsca list przebojów w poszczególnych krajach, w tym w Niemczech, Turcji, Estonii, Argentynie i na Węgrzech osiągając miejsce 1.

W samych tylko Niemczech album „Alone” sprzedał się w ponad 700-tysięcznym nakładzie, co dało mu  status podwójnie platynowej płyty w tym kraju.

Ponadto w Polsce, Finlandii, Szwajcarii, Szwecji oraz na Łotwie album osiągnął status platynowej lub podwójnie platynowej płyty, zaś w Czechach, Austrii i Argentynie pokrył się złotem.

W zestawieniu rocznym albumów wydanych w Europie w 1999 roku ósmy krążek duetu również otrzymał status podwójnie platynowej płyty.

„Alone” jest również wyjątkowy w karierze grupy pod innym względem – to na tym właśnie krążku Thomas Anders zadebiutował jako kompozytor i autor tekstów w Modern Talking komponując w całości nagrania „Love Is Like A Rainbow” i „For Always And Ever” oraz pisząc teksty do dwóch innych nagrań – „It Hurts So Good” oraz „I’ll Never Give Up”.

Album promowały dwa nagrania wydane na singlach – „You Are Not Alone” oraz „Sexy Sexy Lover” do których nakręcono teledyski.

Po 22 latach od pierwszego wydania ósmego w dyskografii Modern Talking albumu „Alone” wyłącznie na płycie CD, Sony Music Polska wspólnie z  i  przedstawia wersję winylową tego krążka.

Dzięki inicjatywie polskiego Fan Clubu Thomasa Andersa i Sony Music Polska jest to zarazem premierowe, pierwsze na świecie wydanie tego materiału na podwójnej płycie winylowej w całej dyskografii zespołu.

Dodatkowo w środku albumu na kopertach do obu płyt znajdują się po raz pierwszy w historii Modern Talking poprawione, wszystkie teksty piosenek z płyty „Alone”.

Przypomnijmy, że wydania winylowe płyt Modern Talking zakończyły się na szóstym albumie duetu, zaś siódmy album „Back For Good” podobnie jak zapowiadany przez nas „Alone”  w postaci winylowej ukazał się również dzięki Sony Music Polska, oraz Thomas Anders Fan-Club Polska.

"Alone" is the eighth album altogether, and the second in order, which was recorded after the reactivation of the German duo Modern Talking in 1998, and so far released worldwide only as a CD on February 22, 1999. It is also the first album after Modern Talking's return to the German music market containing sixteen completely new recordings. As an album, the album was a huge commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in 1999 in individual countries, including Germany, Turkey, Estonia, Argentina and Hungary, reaching the number 1 position. In Germany alone, the album "Alone" sold over 700,000 copies, which made it double platinum in this country. In addition, in Poland, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden and Latvia, the album achieved the status of platinum or double platinum, and in the Czech Republic, Austria and Argentina it was covered with gold. In the list of the annual albums released in Europe in 1999, the duo's eighth album also received double platinum status. "Alone" is also unique in the group's career in other respects - it was on this album that Thomas Anders made his debut as a composer and songwriter in Modern Talking, composing the entire recordings of "Love Is Like A Rainbow" and "For Always And Ever" and writing the lyrics to two other recordings - "It Hurts So Good" and "I'll Never Give Up". The album was promoted by two recordings released on singles - "You Are Not Alone" and "Sexy Sexy Lover" for which music videos were shot.
22 years after the first release of the eighth album "Alone" in the Modern Talking discography exclusively on CD, Sony Music Polska together with Thomas-Anders.pl and Modern-Talking.com.pl presents the vinyl version of this disc. Thanks to the initiative of the Polish Fan Club of Thomas Anders and Sony Music Polska, it is also the premiere, the first in the world release of this material on a double vinyl record in the entire discography of the band. In addition, in the middle of the album on the envelopes for both albums, for the first time in the history of Modern Talking, all the lyrics from the album "Alone" are corrected. Let us remind you that the vinyl releases of Modern Talking albums ended on the duo's sixth album, while the seventh album "Back For Good", like the announced by us "Alone" in vinyl form, was also released thanks to Sony Music Polska and Thomas Anders Fan-Club Polska.
