Young Jessie Hit, Git & Split Ace Import LP (in The Flairs w/Richard Berry) Original Version Of MARY LOU!

LP surfaces are graded: VG+ condition—nice and shiny.  Sleeve is graded: VG condition due to three slightly rounded corners and minor shelf wear on the edges.  Please see photos of actual item on offer!

Young Jessie was in the band The Flairs with Richard Berry (who wrote Louie Louie and many other rock/R&B hits).  

While he isn’t as lauded as his more famous bandmate, Young Jessie is essentially the male counterpart of Darlene Love.  Like Love, he was briefly a member of several groups; The Flairs, The Coasters (he sang on both Searchin’ & Young Blood), and The Hunters, AND had a hit on his own: Mary Lou, (later covered by Ronnie Hawkins) and another minor success with I Smell A Rat—both of which are included here!

Young Jessie attracted the attention of top session men and producers and recorded with Mickey Baker, Sam “The Man” Taylor, Buck Ram, & Jack Nitzsche!
