ABBA - 'THE BEST OF ABBA 1972-1981' - 5 x STEREO VINYL LP BOXED SET  - READER'S DIGEST  - GABA-A-112 - 1982

Description

A 33 1/3 RPM 5 stereo vinyl LP boxed set, 'The Best Of Abba 1972 -1981'.

The album was released in 1982 by The Reader's Digest, in conjunction with CBS Records. 

A mammoth, 70 song compilation of the best from the Swedish superstars. It includes the majority of ABBA's recorded output between 1972 and 1981 (although it appears that there are no tracks from 1981's 'The Visitors'). On a quick inspection the only album tracks missing are from the first two albums although there are a number of 'B' sides. The collection contains all of ABBA's 9 UK No.1s.

All songs were written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, with a number of songs also giving an additional writing credit to Stig Anderson (the band's manager) (see the photo of the back of the box for details)

ABBA are:- Agnetha Faltskog ,vocals; Anni-Frid Lyngstad, vocals; Bjorn Ulvaeus, guitars, vocals; Benny Andersson, keyboards, vocals and backing vocals.  

The box is black, with a colour photo of ABBA on the front and an inset, full-track listing on the back, with writing credits. The individual discs come in 5 different coloured sleeves (numbered Record 1-5!) with photos of the band on the front and a track listing, for that record, on the back. There appears to be no particular order to the tracks.

The inner sleeves are white paper, poly-lined printed with 'MADE IN ENGLAND R.S. 9-81' and various patent nos.

Condition

The vinyl  looks NM. 

No noticeable marks or scratches, the disc play perfectly on playback. The discs don't appear to have been played much.. 

The sleeves are VG+. There is no wear except for small spots of edge wear in the centre of the spine of 3 covers and the centre of the top edge of 4 covers (see photo). I don't know how that could have happened! 

The outer box is unmarked and undamaged. 

The inner sleeves just have some light creasing in places.
