This is a RARE 12" vinyl LP of "DVORAK : SYMPHONY No. 5 in E minor, Opus 95 ("FROM THE NEW WORLD"). Performed by the VIENNA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, conducted by ISTVAN KERTESZ.  On the coveted DECCA record label (SXL 2289 STEREO), this is a sought after WIDEBAND with GROOVE label copy which is VERY RARE & much revered by serious Classical Music Collectors.   Probably a FIRST PRESSING / ISSUE from 1961.          I wouldn't normally bother to list records with major condition issues, but this is too rare to bin. Elsewhere on eBay I have seen this record (presumably in much better condition) for £802 & £1,207 !!!
CONDITION:-                               This is a "MADE IN ENGLAND" Wideband with Groove Issue on the DECCA label. I'm pretty sure that this is a FIRST PRESSING (or, very early) .       VINYL :-  Side A:-   Visually VERY GOOD-  (2 notable marks across the first half of Track 1; a couple of more minor, but noticeable surface marks across Track 2).                                      Play graded @ Overall GOOD+  TRACK 1 :- Pronounced click throughout first half, 2 different types of click corresponding to the 2 marks noted; second half is a really great, clear, dynamic sound.                TRACK 2 :- A couple of Minor pops during the quieter passages; otherwise a great, full sound.

Side B:-  Visually  VERY GOOD- (a couple of minor mild, but longer, noticeable surface marks on track 1; Track 2 has 2 very small scratches, that go with the groove, half way through the track) .                                    Play graded @ Overall GOOD+. TRACK 1 :-  A great start then 4 minor clicks, good, then 7 more minor clicks. The remainder of the track has the odd isolated pop, but is mostly really great (full, dynamic sound).          TRACK 2 :-  3 clicks & then 2 more at the half-way stage & a quick skip where the noted small scratches are; otherwise a really great sound.
Matrix :-  -4E / -2E .                INSIDE OPENING SLEEVE:-  VERY GOOD- (some edge, corner rub & mild spine creasing; age staining; area of damage at bottom edge of front; otherwise Excellent).                                                                                                          OVERALL GRADED @ GOOD.
Incredibly difficult to Grade overall as there are definite (noted) problems, but for large parts of the record the music is absolutely wonderful. Such a dynamic, full & vibrant recording. I'm extremely jealous of anyone who has a copy of this recording in Excellent condition because, it must sound absolutely fabulous. One of the best recordings I have ever heard (notwithstanding the pops & clicks !).
