Grading expectations:

Mint (M)

The record itself is in a brand new condition with no surface marks/scratches or deterioration in sound quality.  The record it self may still be in its shrink wrap seal.

The cover, inner and any extra inserts such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in top condition.

Excellent (E)

The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality.

The cover, inner and any inserts might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG)

The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

The cover, inner and any inserts have general wear and tear around edges/corners, creasing etc but without any major defects.

Good (G)

The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, with some possible distortion and scratches.

The cover, inner and any inserts suffer from major scuffing to edges/corners, spine splits and discolouration.

Fair (F) Poor (P)

The record is still just playable but has not been cared for/stored properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even skip/jump.

The cover and inner will be badly damaged or partly missing.
