This is a very early--possibly 1st pressing--of the 1955 record 'When Farmer Meets Gryce' featuring Art Farmer and Gigi Gryce. The bad news is this 70-year-old record is in rough shape. PLENTY OF POPS WITH A POSSIBLE SKIP(S). I've listened to the record plenty of times and it's a true mono-sounding pressing. The good news is, if you're a 1st pressing fanatic, this appears to precede 1st pressings because it a test copy [Not for Sale]...possibly sent to radio stations. Therefore, if you don't mind the condition issues, it would be a great addition to any jazz collection.
This is a NO RESERVE auction. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Payment is due 24 hours after the auction ends.
Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!!
Update: I listened to the record this morning. There are two skips--one one each side of the record. I'm going to clean the record one more time with my Degritter Mark II prior to mailing it to the winner of the auction. I doubt it's going to remove the pops or skips, but you'll have an ultrasonically cleaned record.
