If you don't know the story of this LP, it's a good one.  Nirvana commissioned Steve Albini to mix the album. After it was done, it was decided that "Heart Shaped Box" and "All Apologies" should be remixed... This was done by Scott Litt, and his versions made the official release. These versions somewhat "tamed" the originals in my opinion. In 2003, this German reissue was released, and it used the original Albini mix by mistake. This version is now long OOP, and becoming very rare. A quick Google search will bring up all kinds of information, and I've included a famous quote from Krist Novoselic below:

"But you know why we had to remix Heart-Shaped Box? You should hear the original version of that song, the guitar solo has this effect on it, it just sabotages the whole song. Steve and Kurt were colluding! I would go to Kurt, Why are you sabotaging this beautiful song by putting this hideous abortion in the centre of it? He'd be like, 'Well, I think it sounds cool.' I don't even remember what their arguments were. Some statement against commercial radio or something, the popular mainstream aesthetic... I dunno! I guess I finally, got my way. Scott Litt was an opportunity to change things."

I'm a collector, not a record dealer. Please see my 100% positive feedback rating. I grade conservatively and offer my honest description of everything I post for sale. This LP has been played on a Rega P5 turntable with Exact 2 moving magnet cartridge. It was cleaned with a Nitty Gritty record cleaning machine and play-graded according to the Goldmine standard, detailed below.

This auction has NO RESERVE.

Goldmine grading system:

Vinyl

Near Mint (NM or M-): Near perfect record and cover. No visible flaws or defects (any manufacturing scuffs should be noted). No unexpected surface noise or other audible issues at normal listening volume.

Very Good Plus Plus (VG++): Only a very small number of minor flaws present (ex. a couple of faint hairlines, a light scuff). No unexpected surface noise or other audible issues at normal listening volume. Cover shows no significant ring wear, nor seam splits.

Very Good Plus (VG+): More slight signs of wear but still an excellent condition record that plays well. Any surface noise is very minimal and the record is still an enjoyable listen. No groove wear. Cover may show minor defects including very light ring wear.

Very Good (VG): More obvious wear. Surface noise evident on playing, especially in soft passages, and during a song's intro and fade but never overpowers the music. Ring wear and other defects evident.
