This auction features an ORIGINAL AND FIRST ISSUE 1954 Arthur Fiedler "Latin Rhythms By the Boston Pops" RCA extended play 45 ERA-25 with cover artwork by artist Andy Warhol. The 1S/2S stampers in the dead wax on sides 1 and 2 identify this as the true first issue. IMPORTANT: THE TRUE FIRST ISSUE WITH 1S/2S STAMPERS IS EXCEEDINGLY SCARCE. The "1" in the "1S" is faint but present. The "2S" is pronounced. Cover measures 7" x 7 1/8".

During the 1950s, Warhol gained fame for his whimsical ink drawings of shoe advertisements. These were done in a loose, blotted-ink style, and figured in some of his earliest showings at the Bodley Gallery in New York. With the concurrent rapid expansion of the record industry and the introduction of the vinyl record, Hi-Fi, and stereophonic recordings, RCA Records hired Warhol, along with another freelance artist, Sid Maurer, to design album covers and promotional materials. THIS IS ONE OF THE EARLIEST AND SCARCEST OF WARHOL'S VINYL RECORD ILLUSTRATIONS.
