Nicht einmal 1 Jahr nach ihrem Debüt legen Uriah Heep 1971 mit "Salisbury" gleich nach. Album Nummer 2 tendiert in eine deutlich progressivere Richtung und beinhaltet unter anderem den Klassiker "Lady in Black". Nun liegt das Album endlich als Vinyl-Neuauflage vor. Diese ist 180 g schwer, das Cover ist ein Gatefold-Sleeve. Während auf dem Debüt noch Sänger David Byron und Gitarrist Mick Box für das Songwriting verantwortlich sind, stammen fast die Hälfte der Songs auf "Salisbury" von Keyboarder/Gitarrist Ken Hensley, der später zum Haupt-Songwriter der Band wird. Neben "Lady in Black", das Jahre später als Re-Release große Erfolge feiert, sticht vor allem der Titeltrack auf "Salisbury" heraus. Für das 16 Minuten-Epos kam unter Anderem ein 24-köpfiges Orchester zum Einsatz.
