Here is the ultimate, by far, box set devoted to the great Robert Johnson. Put out by Columbia Records in 2011 to celebrate Robert's 100th birthday this was a limited edition of 1000 sets worldwide. They quickly sold out but here is a chance to pick up a Near Mint copy at a great price. This is number 838 of 1000. You get 12 10" two sided records that play at 45 RPM with amazing reproductions of the original labels. The records sound amazing as well with all analog mastering! 24 tracks in all. A killer full size beautiful booklet. It comes in a gorgeous vintage style binder with a leather like look. You even get two DVD's "The Search For Robert Johnson" and "The Life & Music of Robert Johnson. Plus a two CD set "Rarities From The Vaults" (a compilation of vintage blues) and "Also Playing" (ten songs from other artists that recorded the same day as Mr. Johnson). Everything is in Near Mint condition. I bought this set new and have only played three or four sides once on a super high quality turntable. 90% of the set is unplayed! The only flaw is the front plastic cover and notes are missing from the 'Rarities From The Vaults" CD. This is a beautiful package that is hard to convey in photos. The quality of everything is off the charts. From the binder to the beautiful reproductions of the labels to the booklet. This is a keeper and a very good investment as well. Makes a great Christmas gift for any blues fan (or for yourself!). Very heavy set. May not be around long... Check my 100% positive feedback for great service.
