Lot of 13 Home-Recorded Recordio Records by the Johnson Family with Daddy, Karen, and Colleen
Celebrate the holidays and birthdays along with the Johnsons, a Connecticut family that always had the Recordio machine ready when special events arose. These one-of-a-kind recordings mostly consist of the daddy, (no name given) speaking with his kids, Karen and Colleen, and sometimes his wife (Mommy, no name given), and occasionally another voice as well. Whether it's Christmas morning, Easter, or a birthday, almost everyone got a turn at the machine.
These are a wonderful look at postwar family life at the holidays. Kids discuss Christmas and Easter presents, family describes vacation, such great stuff on these records.
These records take place between 1948 and 1953 and are spread across seven 8" discs and six 6.5" discs, and the sound quality is surprisingly loud and clear on most.
I've previewed all of them and put Post-It notes on each describing the content.
The lot includes:
Mother's Day, 5-9-48, 6.5" both sides
