PINK FLOYD - THE DIVISION BELL

Rare and highly sought after 1994 1st pressing progressive rock gem in superb, barely played condition

 Matrix Numbers : Side 1  8289841  A - 2 - 2 - 1    Side 2   8289841  B - 2 - 1 - 1

Both sides of the vinyl gleam as if they are new. There is a beautiful sheen on each side and when held at an angle in a bright light there are not even the usual few wispy hairlines and/or paper scuffs. It is clear that this record has been barely played...as I type I am playing it for grading purposes but judging by the condition of the vinyl I suspect that this could well be it's first play. A real stunner!

Both labels are completely unmarked and pristine.

The inner sleeve, with lyrics, is near perfect - no scuffs, no tears, no splits, no nasty creases and no ring wear. The only blemish, and even then you need to hold the inner sleeve in the right light and at the right angle to notice it, is the hint of 3 small surface creases towards the opening edge on the second side.

The beautiful gatefold outer sleeve is superb, retaining all of it's original colour vibrancy and beautiful sheen. The spine and bottom edges are near perfect with just a couple of insignificant "nicks" (see photo), the top edge of the front gatefold is immaculate, and the only blemish of note is the top edge on the reverse of the gatefold where there is a 2 cm scuff/abrasion (see photo). There is a little surface wrinkling along a 16cm diagonal towards the bottom front right hand corner but, again, this is barely noticeable and seems to be a manufacturing fault ("fault" is too strong a word). The reverse side and centre of the gatefold are immaculate. In summary, not quite a perfect condition outer sleeve but very close to and there can't be many of these original pressings in better condition than this.

The quality of the audio is stunning!! Beautiful tone with great clarity. I played this record in it's entirety on my Pioneer PL-X99 turntable with a brand new diamond stylus and the reproduction was perfect. So, so, so much better than a CD!! No background interference at all, as you would expect, and not even the hint of distortion on the higher pitches. It doesn't get any better than this!

In summary, a true rarity of this now deleted LP (7243 8 28984 1 2/ EMD 1055), the superb condition of which only adds to it's scarcity and future value potential.

If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.

If this record interests you then take a look at my other listings for more 50's, 60's and 70's classic vinyl.

bit about myself : I have been collecting vinyl for more than 45 years and have amassed a huge collection covering a varied genre, but mostly of 1960's and 70's origin. Most of my records were originally bought by myself for my own collection, but over the years I have embellished my collection by buying records from a variety of sources : friends/acquaintances, car boots, auctions, and even through putting up a "vinyl wanted" notice in my wife's shop! I never intended selling any of my records but now I am retired and a combination of space requirements (caused partly by duplication) and a need to help fund my retirement has prompted me to "rationalise" my record collection and sell many of my much loved gems. My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no quibble" refund policy

On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl cardboard mailer along with at least two cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in removing the record from the outer sleeve in order to prevent sleeve damage in transit. I do NOT profiteer from postage costs. I DO take great care in minimising all risk thereby ensuring, as far as possible, that your purchase reaches it's destination in exactly the same condition as when I post it. For this item postage & packaging will be Royal Mail special delivery tracked and signed for : UK £7, continental Europe £13, and Rest of the World £19. I do discount post & packaging costs for multiple purchases. Good luck with your bidding. Richard
