JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO - UNFINISHED MUSIC NO. 1 : TWO VIRGINS
Beautiful copy of this increasingly hard to find 1968 UK original pressing of this Lennon rarity on APPLE SAPCOR 2/Track 613 012, stereo
Matrix Numbers :
Side 1 SAPCOR 2A - 1 with stampers "1" and "R" at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively
Side 2 SAPCOR 2B - 1 with stampers "1" and "R" at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively
The condition of the vinyl is truly excellent+. A real "gleamer" in fact with obviously not many plays at all. Beautiful, nice thick vinyl with gorgeous jet black sheen. Difficult to fault in any way - under a bright light I could just detect a couple of small, very fine hairlines and paper scuffs but that's it. Brilliant!
Each label is pristine. The original matt finish and black text remain perfectly intact with just a couple of very, very faint and small spindle traces in evidence adjacent to the centre hole on each label. Note the colouration of each label - dark green, along with the Track logo ,"Sold in UK", and "Mfd in UK" label text - each are characteristics of a UK first/original pressing of this John Lennon rarity.
The iconic front-laminated Technink outer sleeve is excellent. Each edge remains perfect : rigid and no scuffing whatsoever. Each corner remains a perfectly defined right angle with no rubbing and the spine is equally impressive with nice firmness throughout, and all text remains perfectly legible and unblemished. The iconic front side photo is perfect with all colouring remaining rich and vibrant. There is some laminate lifting towards the spine on the front side which I have tried to capture in my photos, and the only other blemish is just the hint of some very minor ring wear - nothing really. Note the "Made in Merrie England" text on the reverse side of the outer, which again is indicative of an original UK pressing.
Finally, the quality of the audio is excellent+ Great tone and clarity throughout with no distortion on either higher volume or higher frequency. No skips or pops or clicks, and no background crackle/interference either.
The tracks are :
Side 1 :
1. Two Virgins No. 1
2. Together
3. Two Virgins No. 2
4. Two Virgins No. 3
5. Two Virgins No. 4
5. Two Virgins No. 5
Side 2 :
1. Two Virgins No. 6
2. Hushabye Hushabye
3. Two Virgins No. 7
4. Two Virgins No. 8
5. Two Virgins No. 9
6. Two Virgins No. 10
Comes in the original black inner sleeve which has no tears or splits - excellent condition and remaining fully functional. I do supply a plain white inner, in which the vinyl will be housed for postage and storage purposes, as a matter of course.
In summary, a beautiful copy of this extremely rare (especially in this condition) and sought after original UK Beatles / Lennon piece of memorabilia.
If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige.
If this record interests you then take a look at my other listings for more 50's, 60's and 70's classic vinyl.
A bit about myself : I have been collecting vinyl for more than 48 years and have amassed a huge collection covering a varied genre, but mostly of 1960's and 70's origin. Most of my records were originally bought by myself for my own collection, but over the years I have embellished my collection by buying records from a variety of sources : friends/acquaintances, car boots, auctions, and even through putting up a "vinyl wanted" notice in my wife's shop! I never intended selling any of my records but now I am retired and a combination of space requirements (caused partly by duplication) and a need to help fund my retirement has prompted me to "rationalise" my record collection and sell many of my much loved gems.
My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I'll sort out the problem. I offer a "no quibble" refund policy.
On the subject of postage, I take great care in the packaging of all items, using a proper vinyl cardboard mailer along with at least two cardboard stiffeners. I take great care in removing the record from the outer sleeve in order to prevent sleeve damage in transit and I always insert the vinyl, outer sleeve and inner into a clear plastic sleeve, thus adding further protection.
For this item postage & packaging will be Royal Mail 1st class, tracked and signed for : UK £5.00, continental Europe £9, and Rest of the World £13.
I do discount post & packaging costs for multiple purchases. I do NOT profit from postage.
Good luck with your bidding! Richard
