14 RARE 1996 CAPITAL/CEMA

UNPLAYED MINT 45s! THIS LOT  INCLUDES: All 32 PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SINGLES, AND FEATURES EXTREMELY RARE the RED Love Me Do and Black one!  Here’s your chance to own the complete set. In the early to mid 90’s Capitol released a batch of Beatles singles through their CEMA Special Marketing Products division. They were released as “For Jukeboxes Only” on colored vinyl and all had purple labels.

Love Me Do was the first to get the treatment, released in October 1992. It was originally intended to be on black vinyl only but a mistake was made at the pressing plant and an initial run of anything from 250 were pressed on red vinyl before they realized. Both the red and black versions have the same catalogue number S7-56785. I have a copy of both the red and the black version.

15 titles were released in 1994 in various colors selling between 20,000 and 25,000 a piece. The odd one here is Birthday/Taxman as, again, a mistake was made at the pressing plant and an initial run (very small – under 100) were pressed on black vinyl instead of the intended green. As with Love Me Do both the black and green copies have the same catalogue number S7-17488. I have all 15, shown below, though have not yet managed to get a black Birthday/Taxman.

5 titles were released in 1996 in various colours selling between 15,000 and 20,000 a piece. The odd one here is Norwegian Wood/If I Needed Someone though this time it wasn’t through a mistake. The green version was made only available with a Collector’s Choice Music box set of Beatles albums and only 1000 were pressed. The black pressing is the standard version for this jukebox only collection. Unlike Love Me Do and Taxman they have different catalogue numbers – green is S7-18888 and black is S7-19341. I have all 15, shown below, though have not yet managed to get a green Norwegian Wood.

These Capital/CEMA colored vinyl 45s are the rarest stock-copy Beatles singles ever released in the U.S.; estimated between 10,000 and 22,000 copies pressed of each "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" 45.   This is both series with Jukebox labels

Theses have never been played and are in mint condition.  This is out of my private collection.  I will be selling some of my collection this week so look at my other ites through the week.
