The Fantastic Emanons was a 1960's rock and roll band from the Ohio Valley.... Bellaire, Ohio / Wheeling, West Virginia area. "Emanon" is no name spelled backwards. In 1965, The Fantastic Emanons recorded their first single "Duh" was written by Russ Greenwood and was a top 10 single in the Ohio Valley. "Duh" continues to receive play time on various podcasts and radio stations. The Fantastic Emanons appeared with Jay and the Americans, Manfred Mann, Bobby Goldsboro, etc.

The Fantastic Emanons started out as a "un-named" 1960's  rock and roll group from the Ohio Valley, Bellaire, Ohio / Wheeling, West Virginia area.  While playing gigs at the Quarterback Club, a night club in Moundsville, West Virginia, the band catered to an older crowd with old standard  songs, polkas,  etc. with an accordion, saxophone, guitar, drums and no vocals. As time progressed, the group instrumentally tested some Beach Boys songs eliminating the accordion. with the addition of a second guitar and the saxophone leading the way.  Eventually a vocalist joined the group at a local DJ sponsored high school dance and the response to the appearance and one vocal song  resulted in an eventual agreement with the DJ for future performances and the formation of the Fantastic Emanons.  As the group progressed, the DJ and The Fantastic Emanons converged on an exciting partnership appearing at local high school dances while continuing with gigs at night clubs. The original Fantastic Emanons  included Russ Greenwood, guitar and vocals, Harry Joe McCabe, guitar and Tom Dundr, drums and vocals. Tom Dundr left the group to join the Navy and was replaced by Bob Livingston. Gary Parrish joined the group at the same time playing guitar and vocals. The group was managed by Bill Thalman a local disc jockey at radio station WOMP in Bellaire, Ohio and who assisted in the recording of "Duh" , "Why Did She Leave Me", Hitch-Hike and Sippy Sippy Sop Slop  at Gateway Studios in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania."  Duh" was written by Russ Greenwood and was a top 10 single in the Ohio Valley. The flip side was "Why Did She Leave Me" which also hit the charts.
