Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band, "Trout Mask Replica," Straight STS-1053, stereo.
This is the original, absolute first US pressing on Straight STS-1053, released in 1969. Most of the copies on Straight label that you find will carry the number "2MS" on the label; these are later reissues by Reprise in 1970. THIS COPY IS THE ORIGINAL, FIRST PRESSING FROM 1969!
Numbers that are hand-etched into the vinyl sides are as follows:
Side 1: STS-1053-1 1A
Side 2: 2-STS-1053-2 (RE)
Side 3: STS-1053-3 1A
Side 4: 2STS-1053-4-1B (RE)
Vinyl is VG++, looks great, sounds fantastic. Just a few visual marks I can see to keep it from grading higher (I never use "mint" unless a record is sealed). Cover is VG, the front has ring wear and there's some edgewear but the back and inside are in great condition. Very strong. Gatefold album with inner sleeves present, no insert.
