ORIGINAL 1956 HMV FIRST PRESSING
1956 LP with picture sleeve and original poly-lined HMV inner sleeve.
SLEEVE The famously fragile sleeve has seen better days and shows corner wear, edge wear and spine wear (see pictures) There are two small tears at the opening and top, a partially repaired split at the bottom and creasing at the corners which has broken through the laminate. On the plus side most of the wear is around the edge. The front is still intact and glossy while the rear is also intact, VERY glossy and fully readable. Strictly graded GOOD.
VINYL The vinyl has a lot of surface marks but only one single very short scratch on Side 1 track 3. Apart from this single 2mm scratch which causes clicking but no jumping, the album pays though superbly well and sounds fantastic. There is a little crackle discernible between tracks but at high volume the recording sounds vibrant and fresh. There is no major deterioration in sound quality and I can happily grade the vinyl as VERY GOOD.
