Before the Kinks were the Kinks, they were the Ravens. Larry Page took them into Regent Studios in Soho’s Denmark
Street late in 1963 to cut a few demos so that he could take them to Pye Records, who had been showing an interest in
signing the group. Revenge was an instrumental, and the other three were Merseybeat-style vocals. You Still Want Me and
You Do Something To Me were re-recorded for Pye as their second single in 1964, but are presented here in their original,
raw demo form. Ooba Diooba was never deemed to be worthy of reissue.
