WORKOUT

BLUE NOTE RECORDS # BLP 4080

Early United States Mono pressing of this vinyl record album.  Side 1 lists the Blue Note address as 47 West 63rd NYC, and Side 2 lists the address as New York USA.  The address on the back cover is 43 West 61st St., New York 23.  The dead wax has both RVG and The Ear symbol on both sides.  Comes with its original Blue Note records company inner sleeve.

COVER: The cover is nicely preserved with no seam splitting anywhere.  It shows minor surface wear on the front and back.  The only things keeping this cover from grading a nice VG+ are some writing on the back and an old address label on the back.

VINYL: The record has lots of scuffing and scratching.  It grades G+.

DEAD WAX (Side 1): BNLP 4080 A THE EAR RVG
DEAD WAX (Side 2): BNLP 4080 B THE EAR RVG

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.

With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an "overall presentation" grade; we do not give a "listening" grade. Our vinyl listings are supplemented when necessary with additional remarks. For example: where some dealers will not allow a cut corner on an otherwise near mint jacket (often automatically relegating it to a VG+ at best), we may grade such a record as NM and note the cut-out mark (thereby letting you know what it "really" looks like: a near-perfect record with a cut corner). LPs are graded cover first, followed by the grade for the vinyl.

GRADING DEFINITIONS:

MINT (M): Basically a perfect book   NEAR MINT (NM): Like new or newsstand condition, carefully read once or twice then put away, almost perfect; tight spine, flat and clean; just enough minor defects at close inspection to keep it out of the mint category. Could have a small flake of color missing at a staple, corner or edge or slight discoloration on the inside cover or pages. Cover has most of its original gloss, a few small spine bends are allowed if they do not break color. Most new comics are in this category when purchased.   VERY FINE (VF): Slight wear beginning to show; possibly a small wrinkle or crease at staples or where cover has been opened a few times; still clean flat with most of the cover gloss retained. Slight yellowing or minor bump at a corner accepted.   FINE (FN): Tight cover with some wear, but still relatively flat, clean and shiny with no subscription crease or tape repairs, only minor writing allowed on cover (ex. Initials) A few stress lines around staples and along spine are beginning to show; small corner fold or crease, minor color flaking possible at spine, staples, edges or corners. Moderate yellowing accepted.   VERY GOOD (VG): Obviously a read copy with original cover gloss almost gone; some tanning but not soiled; some signs of wear and minor markings but none that deface the cover; usually needs slight repair around staples and along spine which can be rolled; cover could have a minor tear or subscription crease staples could show signs of rust; no chunks missing. This grade comic is still a solid collectible copy.   GOOD (GD): A below average copy complete with both covers (although cover may be detached) and no panels missing; coupon may be missing as long as it does not affect the story. Moderately soiled or stained or marked with an accumulation of possible creases minor tears or splits, rolled spine, rusty staples and color flaking, but perfectly sound and legible. Minor tape repairs can occur and some browning (although not brittle) acceptable.   FAIR (FR): Very heavily read and soiled, but complete; cover can have pieces missing, tears, multiple folds and wrinkles. Spine may be partially split. Book could have a missing centerfold or page if the comic still has other complete stories. Book may be damaged by the elements but still completely sound and readable.   POOR (PR): Heavily damaged to the point that the book is no longer collectible, a reader or filler copy until it can be replaced.   (Keep in mind that a comic book may have a peculiar combination of defects and wear which may prompt the condition to be lower or higher than the typical grade assigned. These type of defects will usually be noted in the description of that particular comic book, especially if it is a higher grade.)

Vinyl Grading and Abbreviation Guide

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.   With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting. Upon request, we will give your sealed LP's the same treatment. SS (Still Sealed) Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.) The Great Escape does not sell re-sealed records. If we have ANY suspicion that a sealed record is a re-seal or has sustained significant damage, we open it for inspection and grading!
M (Mint) The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration.
NM (Near Mint) A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.
EX (Excellent) A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.
VG+ (Very Good Plus) A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.
VG (Very Good) A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.
G (Good) A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.
FA (Fair) and P (Poor) These grades are for beat-up records. We only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.

We have received many messages from our customers regarding slow shipping of their packages with the USPS. We share in your disappointment on these delays, and want to share what we know & have learned after speaking with several USPS representatives over the past few days.
It is important for all our customers to know that we are still shipping within 1 business day of received payment during this pandemic. We have mail pickup every weekday, and the day your order is updated with tracking info is the same day it will be collected by the USPS. If your item is shipped via Media Mail, the items must first travel to the USPS hub in Memphis, TN. This may seem counterintuitive - especially for our local customers here in Nashville - but we have no control over this process and apologize for the extra time it adds to your delivery. Items that are non-rectangular or over-sized (typically any package over 1 cubic foot in size) are regarded as "non-machinable" by the USPS and must be manually scanned/moved by a postal worker, which is causing severe delays in some cases. [The following information was provided by our USPS Sales Representative over the phone] The pandemic has caused a huge spike in mail order business for the USPS, with very similar volume to what is expected during holiday seasons. Unfortunately, while there are more shipments there is not necessarily more workers to meet that demand. Many workers are unable to perform their duties due to quarantine or needing to look after their families. While the USPS is continuing to hire workers, they are still struggling to keep up with the pace of business. We've also been informed that packages needing to be transported via plane are being delayed by a lowered amount of opportunities for air travel.
This is a tough time for everyone: buyers, sellers, postal service workers, etc. We will continue to operate to the best of our abilities, and want to be transparent with our customers on what to expect during this time. We thank you for your business, your understanding, and your patience.
