Beach Boys – Pet Sounds 1st US Los Angeles Press Capitol T-2458 Very Nice!

Offered here is a MONO US Los Angeles 1st pressing of The Beach Boys Pet Sounds.

Capitol T-2458 black label with rainbow color band.

The cover and correct Capitol Records  company inner sleeve are in a resealable Japanese polypropylene sleeve.

The record itself will come to the purchaser in white paper inner sleeves with archival polypropylene lining, placed in glossy white poster board jacket with die-cut holes.

COVER

Overall a beautiful conditioned very clean May 16, 1966 first issue cover. The colors are bright and saturated and still retains its clean white borders and back cover. There are no seam splits, tears, staple or punch holes or missing paper. The opening is nice and straight and shows very little of its 54 years of age. There is a small push to the bottom left corner. All spine text is readable. There is minimal evidence of handling, disc wear and age toning. A very well cared for record jacket.

CONDITION -

Still has great dynamic range with great  bass and crisp highs. Crackle and an occasional pop only evident in lower passages and between tracks.

Multiple superficial abrasions, most being a result of removing and inserting record into the inner sleeve. 

A few more visible abrasions. None are feelable or cause the stylus to skip or hang. A good pro cleaning would improve the sound. Matte finish labels are both NM with some spidering to side 2.

INNER SLEEVE

Original correct Capitol Records company inner sleeve in excellent condition with no seam splits.
