THE RECORD LABELS

THE TWHITE AND SILVER FIRST PRESS  LABELS ARE IN PRISTINE CONDITION. THE DEEP RICH COLOUR IS  VIBRANT, AND HAS NO STAINS OR MARKSANYWHERE.

THE COLOUR FULLY EXTENDS INTO THE UNWORN SPINDLE HOLE. THE TYPEFACE (BLACK) IS ALSO UNWORN AND PERFECTLY LEGIBLE.

FINALLY THERE IS JUST ONE SMALL SPIDER LINE VERY CLOSE TO THE SPINDLE HOLE, SHOWING THAT THE LP HAS HAD AT MOST A COUPLE OF VERY CAREFUL PLAYS, AND IN ADDITION HAS BEEN HANDLED WITH METICULOUS CARE

THESE LABELS COULD NOT LOOK ANY BETTER

THE VINYL

ABSOLUTELY PRISTINE GLOSSY BLACK  VINYL.

REMOVING IT FROM THE SLEEVE AND GENTLY AND CAREFULLY EXAMINING THE DISC REVEALS A SPOTLESS SURFACE.

THIS VINYL APPEARS EXACTLY HOW A NEW VINYL WOULD HAVE LOOKED BACK IN 1971 WHEN THIS DISC WAS ORIGINALLY PRESSED. .

EVEN WHEN OFFERED UP TO A SPOTLIGHT THERE ARE JUST A FEW REALLY TINY WISPY HAIRLINES. NO MARKS OR SCRATCHES

PLAYING THE RECORD

I HAVE RECORDED THE WHOLE ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH AS I DO WITH ALL MY LISTINGS. THIS IS TO ALLOW POTENTIAL BIDDERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR THE RECORD BEFORE LAYING A BID

THE FIRST THING THAT IS CLEAR IS THAT THE SOUND IS DISTORTION FREE. ALMOST POINTLESS STATING THIS IN LIGHT OF HOW LITTLE THE ALBUM HAS BEEN PLAYED, BUT IT DOES MEAN THAT THE PLAY THAT THE RECORD HAS HAD WAS DONE WITH A GOOD QUALITY STYLUS AND NOT ONE THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE GROOVE SUCH AS A WORN, CHIPPED STYLUS, OR INDEED ONE THAT WAS TRACKING TOO HEAVILY.

EACH TRACK PLAYS THROUGH WITH UTMOST CLARITY.

THE PERFORMANCE ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOTH SIDES IS JUST OUTSTANDING.

THERE IS NO HEAVY CRACKLE AND NO LOUD CLICKS OR POPS

NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE EITHER

ALL I HEARD WAS THE ODD TINY SPECK OF BARELY AUDIBLE STATIC IN THE LINKING GROOVES AND ONE OR TWO OF THE MOST SILENT PASSAGES , AND SOME RANDOM TINY DUST POPS

I HAVE NO HESITATION IN GRADING THIS DISC NEAR MINT FOR THE AUDIO PERFORMANCE

DON'T JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THOUGH TAKE A LISTEN AND JUDGE IT AGAINST YOUR OWN STANDARDS

THE SLEEVE

HEAVY CARD LIGHTLY TEXTURED FIRST ISSUE GATEFOLD SLEEVE

THE FRONT SURFACE HAS RETAINED  VIRTUALLY ALL OF THE ORIGINAL COLOUR APART FROM A TINY STICKER RESIDUE MARK IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER, A LITTLE RUB TO THE BOTTOM LEFT CORNER, AND A FEW NEAR INVISIBLE FOXING MOTTLES NEAR THE TOP EDGE

THERE IS NO RING WEAR OR RECORD SHAPE

THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY ZERO PRESSURE LINES BY THE SPINE. NONE ON THE TOP EDGE, NONE ON THE BOTTOM EDGE, AND NO THUMB LINES BY THE OPENING EDGE

THE TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES HAVE ONLY A FEW TINY SPECKS OF UNDERCARD VISIBLE

THE SPINE IS FLAT WITH SOME RUB TO THE TOP AND BOTTOM

THE OPENING EDGE IS STILL  SHARP

THE REAR SURFACE IS IN TOP CONDITION. NO BLEMISHES

OPENING THE GATEFOLD REVEALS TWO NEAR PERFECT IMAGES. A TINY BIT OF FOXING ON THE RIGHT EDGE

THE INSERT SHEET ALSO HAS A LITTLE FOXING TO THE SURFACE

THE ODE INNER SLEEVE HAS SMALL SEAM SPLIT ON THE BOTTOM AND ONE SIDE EDGE
