Rod Stewart – Gasoline Alley Rare 1970 1st pressing - textured, gatefold cover on Vertigo Spiral 6360 500 - 1Y/2Y Matrix!
Grading - All gradings based on the Official Record Collectors guide
Cover - VG+. Condition + Integrity excellent & way above average for age - very light edge wear to bottom (as per photos), gatefold inner unmarked, spine intact & easily readable. Front top right has 4cm patch from original label removal & plain lined inner ergo VG+ grading as opposed to EX. Vinyl - VG+. Nothing more than a few hairline surface/sleeve marks. Great shine, labels + spindles excellent & clean, matrix clearly readable.
Very well looked after original 1st 1970 pressing making this a very hard record to source. Matrix aside the giveaway to identifying genuine 1st pressings are the large Vertigo swirl appearing above the track listings, the VERTIGO text placed at the bottom of the label & no track timing credits are listed on either label or sleeve. A LOT OF 2ND & LATER PRESSINGS ARE MISTAKENLY ADVERTISED & SOLD ON EBAY AS 1ST'S!
All vinyl has been carefully evaluated under LED light, up close visual (and where mentioned, audio) inspection. As you can see from my 100% +ve feedback I try to provide honest and 100% by the book gradings as per the official record collectors guide & will always err on the conservative when assigning a grading. I also post "RAW" HDR images of media which provide a very accurate visual guide in respect of media condition. In essence, what you see is what you will get with no unexpected surprises.
