Elton John – “Greatest Hits” lp. His first compilation album, and eleventh album overall, covering 1970 through 1974 (but does not include every hit from this time period). This is the American / Canadian release, with “Bennie and The Jets”.
Vinyl = Good Plus (G+) condition. It has many light scuffs and scratches, and some fingerprints and dirt, that cause surface noise that is below the music level but is noticeable. Both sides play okay, with low noise throughout the record. Labels are clean. ** This record is fine for casual listening, but may not meet the expectations of audiophiles or serious collectors. **
Cover = Good Plus (G+) condition. It has scuffing, light scratches, and small handling creases. Ring wear is starting to show on both sides. There is moderate edge and corner wear, including on the title edge. Seams are good. No writing or stickers or sticker residue on this cover.
Inner sleeve = Fair (F) condition. Original factory pictures / credits light cardboard inner sleeve. It has some small handling creases, several liquid stains, and some other dirt. Seams are good. No writing or stickers on it.
Label = MCA Records                           Record #2128
Song List: Side One 1. Your Song 2. Daniel 3. Honky Cat 4. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 5. Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting
Side Two 1. Rocket Man 2. Bennie and The Jets 3. Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me 4. Border Song 5. Crocodile Rock
This album reached #1 on Billboard’s 200 album chart. All of the songs charted on the Billboard Hot 100 list (from their original releases).
A note about the Good Plus (G+) and Good (G) condition ratings: this means that there is handling damage present, so this is NOT a perfect record. However, the damage does not ruin the record. Some feel that if a record plays at all (no matter how badly) it qualifies as “Good” – I do not sell records that are that worn out. This record exhibits a lot of past use and some rough handling, but it still plays through without skipping and in my opinion is still enjoyable. Please do not bid on a G level record expecting to receive a record that looks and sounds like it was hardly ever used.
