Legendary album - debut of Gentle Giant band. The absolute pearl of prog rock and multi instrumental rock. Everyone who is interested into the subject, knows how important  and exceptional this album is. It's not easy to find another such a band, which in its repertoire used so many instruments,  which are not even associated with rock, like mandolin, violin, vibraphone, trumpets,  clarinet, saxophone or flute. Gentle Giant was connecting many genre, starting from folk through the jazz elements and classical music.
For a moment of attention the cover of an album deserves, too. It shows inherited from Renaissance stories of François Rebelais, kind giant fascinated by music. That's why the name of a band.

Visual state of LP: VG
The first side looks seriously very good, there is one bigger only surface scratch. It is easy to be seen on the picture. Besides in a few places , small shallow marks and hairlines. Without any deep scratches. Second side doesn't have bigger marks or scratches. Just hairlines and shallow scratches. However these small marks there are their quite more. Interestingly however this side the sounds really great, you will read about that below.

Side A: VG+
Giant
Here begins with a little hiss in intro. These are not annoying  crackles, not so loud but you can hear them. When the track develops around 30 second and the drums entering, hiss is mute and then you can hear in the moments the single static clicks. Nothing special. Either in the end of the track when it's calmer, so few silent crackles occur. Generally I rate the sound like VG on this track.

Funny ways
The track begins very calmly and we have a lot of such fragments here. You can hear slight ripples or small hiss. It's not annoying,  nevertheless it appears and you can feel a little discomfort.
Lack of significant loud crackles or the other vicious disadvantages.  When there are lively moments of a track wits the drums, you cannot hear ant crackles.. VG-

Alucard
In the beginning of a track you can hear a little crackles,  not so loud. They occur either in the last 10-15 seconds of a track. Besides, static clicks in moments, when the track is so quiet so when the drums are gone. Sounds really good and I think of giving the EX condition , and it's honest rate.

Isn't it Quiet and Cold
Even though it is very calm track, there are no louder crackles. When just single piano plays without the other instruments, there are no crackles. Static clicks in some places. VG+

Side B: EX

This side sounds better, but please read this particular description to have good conviction.

Nothing At All
The song opening this side of LP, similarly like the track Giant begins with small hiss. Nothing special,  you shouldn't feel discomfort during the session. Further is wonderful. Guitar riffs and drums are doing their job. In those moments you won't hear any crackles, hiss or clicks. In the silent fragments in few places maybe some quiet cracks , but they are exceptions. Strong VG+ just because the intro, if not , I would give higher.

Why Not
It's a very lively track and one of best sounding on LP. You cannot clutch to anything here. If you hear deeper, you can catch slight static clicks in more calm parts of a track and that's it. EX+

The Queen

Similarly like above. Despite the quiet intro there are no crackles, not even static clicks. Further there is more expression but first of all it sounds fantastic. Yours be drawn in listening to catch any clicks

Cover: VG+
Cover type: gatefold.  Either front and a back looks quite fine. In few places there are small abrasions. On the front of the cover, alas there are few marks left by pen - you can see it clearly on the pics. There is nothing torn or dirty. Any serious flaws. Besides the corners of the cover and hinges are slightly used .inside the cover looks nicer. You cannot clutch to nothing here. See the pictures in particular look.
