TED WILLIAMS 7" 45 RPM  "Tips on How To Become a Better Hitter" Sears promo from 1967 VG+

Shortly after Hall of Famer Ted Williams retired from baseball in 1960, he joined Sears as their sporting goods consultant, helping the department store select and develop its sports equipment. As Sports Illustrated noted in a column from 1962: “If the legendary Williams batting eye can't detect a flaw, Sears knows the item is absolutely first-rate.”

In 1967, as part of a promotion for a new line of “Ted Williams Approved Baseball equipment,” Williams and Sears released a 20-page booklet, titled “Batting Tips from Ted: How to Be a Better Hitter” and corresponding phonograph record, “Tips on How to Become a Better Hitter.” The record is narrated by Williams himself.

I have tried to listen to the "A" side of my records.  But, I have close to 30,000 records and I will occasionally send out one that has a skip or flaw.  So, if you have an issue with the record, let me know and I will make it right for you.

Note: International Shipping is cheaper if you message me. I will compute the costs of the record or records and send you a price.  If we agree, then I will ship them directly myself.  Combined shipping is very expensive through eBay's Global Shipping option so if you are buying multiple records you should contact me and I will create an invoice and we can work something out.

Shipping:  Records are shipped in sleeve in a postal cardboard mailer sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard.  Will ship via USPS media mail.  Combined shipping is available under the following terms:  First item will be $3.50.  Each additional item will be shipped FREE.  You need to purchase these within the same 24 hour window in order to take advantage of the combined shipping discounts because I make every effort to ship out within one day.

VINAL RATINGS

·         NM - = Near Mint Minus Condition – I looks like it has hardly or never been played.

·         VG + = Very Good Plus Condition – It looks really good with little, or light, or no surface scratches that will not distract significantly from the sound.   Excellent looking with next to perfect looks and wear.

·         VG =  Very Good Condition - Has been moderately played with moderate surface wear and usage.  However, it looks to be in great condition and one I would not hesitate to recommend as a nice vinal.

·         G – Good Condition - Has been played significantly, but plays fine with no major scratches or problems.

·         F- Fair Condition -Shows very heavy wear.  No guarantees.

SLEEVE / COVER RATINGS:

·         NM = Near Mint Condition - In near mint or perfect condition.  No frayed edges, no ring marks.

·         VG+ = Very Good Plus Condition – In extra good condition with maybe a dented corner, slight ring marks, no stains.

·         VG = Very Good Condition showing only slight or moderate wear.  One edge or side may be slit or open, but the rest is in great shape.

·         G = Good Condition - Shows some normal wear.

·         F = Fair Condition – Could have some major wear, stains, tears, fading, etc.

LABEL RATINGS:

VG+ = Very Good Plus – Is in excellent condition with no signs of wear.  From near mint to very nice. G = Good – Label is in good condition with possibly a ring wear or something minor or insignificant. F = Fair – Label shows heavy wear, but can still be identified. W = Writing – Has handwriting or signature, written name, etc. on it probably for a past owner to identify it back in the day. S = Sticker – Has some sort of sticker attached to it; Label, price sticker, jukebox label, ownership label, etc. T = Tore -  Some part of the label is torn or peeled away from sticker removal, etc.
