I have come across a collection of records that defy time.

They belonged to a collector who was buying in the mid to late 60's through the 70's and 80's

However his family have said that he didn't own a record player until the mid 80's.

Very strange I know, but what it means is that the early records have in most cases never been played or at the most one play.

Naturally people's tastes in music change and that's why the 80's albums have had more play than the 60's

There are some incredible records in this collection

I aim to release one per day and will list them at 8pm UK time so that they don't get confused with my other listings

I will also be playing each record and recording IT. My very very careful test play will go undetected however

BEE GEES - BEE GEES 1ST

CATALOGUE:POLYDOR 582012 MATRIX:582012 A//1  420/  / B//1 420

THE RECORDS

THE LABELS

THE ROUGH TEXTURED LABELS ARE STILL VERY RICH AND VIBRANT WITH JUST A COUPLE OF LIGHTER PATCHES VISIBLE

THE BLACK TYPEFACE IS ALL PRISTINE AND UNRUBBED

THERE ARE NO VISIBLE SPIDER LINES AROUND THE SPINDLE HOLE

THE VINYL

THE VINYL IS HEAVYWEIGHT AND IN GLEAMING CONDITION. IN DAYLIGHT IT LOOKS FLAWLESS

UNDER SPOTLIGHTS IT STILL LOOKS AS GOOD WITH JUST A TINY LITTLE SURFACE LINE ON THE 2ND LAST TRACK SIDE TWO

PLAYING THE RECORD

THE FIRST THING TO NOTE IS THAT THE VINYL PLAYS WITHOUT ANY DISTORTION WHATSOEVER, MEANING THAT THE COUPLE OF PLAYS THE ALBUM HAS RECEIVED WERE COMPLETED ON SYSTEM THAT HAD A CORRECTLY WEIGHTED AND UNWORN STYLUS.

SECONDLY THERE IS NO HEAVY BACKGROUND CRACKLE AT ANY POINT AND CERTAINLY NO LOUD CLICKS ANYWHERE

THE MONO REPRODUCTION IS AS CLEAR AS A BELL WITH EVERY NOTE HEARD EXACTLY AS WAS INTENDED

NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE AT ALL EITHER

THE VINYL PLAYS JUST SUPERBLY ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOTH SIDES, WITH A LITTLE VERY LIGHT LOW LEVEL BACKGROUND AUDIBLE IN SOME LINKING GROOVES A ND SOME OF TH MOST SILENT PASSAGES

I DIDN'T HEAR ANY DUST POPS ETC

I THINK THE AUDIO GRADES EX+

PLEASE TAKE A GOOD LISTEN TO IT, AND YOU BE THE JUDGE

THE SLEEVE

THIS IS A LAMINATED FRONT , UNLAMINATED REAR E.J .DAY SINGLE SLEEVE

THE FRONT SURFACE IS VERY FLAT AND  FREE FROM ANY HEAVY CREASES OR CREASE LINES , BENDS OR FOLDS

THE LAMINATE STILL GLEAMS LIKE A POLISHED MIRROR

THERE IS A LIGHT SHADOW OF RECORD SHAPE WHEN ANGLED INTO THE LIGHT

THERE ARE NO LAMINATE LINES NEAR THE SPINE, FIVE SMALL ONES ALONG THE TOP EDGE, AND THREE ALONG THE BOTTOM EDGE. ONE SMALL THUMB LINE NEAR THE OPENING EDGE

THE BOTTOM LEFT AND RIGHT CORNER TIPS ARE LIGHTLY RUBBED

THE TOP EDGE HAS A LITTLE SPECK OF RUB ON THE RIGHT CORNER TIP

THE BOTTOM EDGE LOOKS RUBBED IN THE RIGHT CORNER BUT IN FACT IT IS A LITTLE EXCESS CARD OVERHANGING THE LAMINATED SURFACE WHICH IS IN PERFECT CONDITION UNDERNEATH

THE WAFER THIN SPINE IS FLAT AND  IS UNRUBBED APART FROM THE CATALOGUE NUMBER NEAR THE BOTTOM

THE OPENING EDGE HAS SOME BURRING TO THE FRONT SURFACE

THE UNLAMINATED REAR SURFACE IS STILL FAIRLY WHITE

SOME LIGHT RING WEAR AND SOME HANDLING TO THE EDGES

THE ORIGINAL POLY LINED INNER SLEEVE IS INCLUDED AND  HAS A FEW WRINKLES AND HAS BEEN TAPED ALONG THE SIDES

I AM HAPPY TO GRADE THIS SLEEVE EXCELLENT +
