I have come across a collection of records that defy time.
They belonged to a collector who was buying in the mid to late 60's through the 70's and 80's
However his family have said that he didn't own a record player until the mid 80's.
Very strange I know, but what it means is that the early records have in most cases never been played or at the most one play.
Naturally people's tastes in music change and that's why the 80's albums have had more play than the 60's
There are some incredible records in this collection
I aim to release one per day and will list them at 8pm UK time so that they don't get confused with my other listings
I will also be playing each record and recording IT. My very very careful test play will go undetected however
JIMI HENDRIX - ELECTRIC LADYLAND
MAGNIFICENT MINT MINUS AUDIO
MINT MINUS SLEEVE
THIS IS THE 1ST REISSUE / CROSSOVER ON POLYDOR WITH THE TRACK MATRIX NUMBERS
NO POLYDOR MATRIX NUMBERS AT ALL
FULLY PLAY TESTED PRIOR TO LISTING
CATALOGUE:POLYDOR 2310269 / 70 MATRIX:613008 A v 2 420 11 / B v 2 420 12 613009 A v 2 420 11 / B // 2 420 12THE RECORDS
THE LABELS
THE ORANGE LABELS ARE IN NICE CONDITION. THE BASE COLOUR IS RICH AND VIBRANT AND STRETCHES FULLY INTO THE VERY SLIGHLY FADED SPINDLE HOLES,
THE TYPEFACE IS UNWORN AND PERFECTLY LEGIBLE.
EVEN UNDER VERY CLOSE SCRUTINY I CANNOT SEE ANY MORE THAN TWO SPIDER LINES AROUND THE SPINDLE HOLE, AND THIS MEANS THAT THE LP HAS BEEN VERY VERY CAREFULLY HANDLED AND BARELY BEEN NEAR A TURNTABLE.
THERE IS ALSO A LITTLE VINYL RESIDUE INSIDE THE SPINDLE HOLE ON ONE LP AND A LITTLE STUCK TO THE HOLE ON THE OTHER
THE VINYL
THE RECORDS HAVE RETAINED ALL OF THE ORIGINAL LUSTRE AND SHEEN AND IN DAYLIGHT LOOK ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS, AND EVEN WHEN PLACED UNDER INTENSE ILLUMINATION, THEY STILL LOOK PERFECT
PLAYING THE RECORD
THE LP'S PLAY THROUGH MAGNIFICENTLY. THE STEREO REPRODUCTION IS FIRST PRESS ALL THE WAY, AND EVERY NOTE IS HEARD CRISPLY AND CLEARLY. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND AT ALL.
THIS AUDIO REPRODUCTION IS MAGNIFICENT, AND THERE IS NO BACKGROUND CRACKLE AND NO LOUD CLICKS
NO DISTORTION TO THE SOUND
NO EMBEDDED VINYL NOISE
ALL I HEARD DURING THE FOUR SIDES WAS A FEW RANDOM SPECKS OF VERY LIGHT STATIC LIKE BACKGROUND IN A LINKING GROOVE / SILENT PASSAGE OR TWO
I HEARD NO DUST POPS THROUGH THE ENTIRE ALBUM, JUST A COUPLE OF MINUSCULE STATIC TICS
THIS HAS TO GRADE MINT MINUS
THE SLEEVE
LAMINATED E. J DAY AND CO GATEFOLD SLEEVE
THE FRONT SURFACE IS FLAT AND CLEAN, AND IS VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE. FIRSTLY BECAUSE UNLIKE MOST COPIES THERE IS NO RING WEAR AT ALL, JUST A SHADOW OF RECORD SHAPE WHEN ANGLED INTO A STRONG LIGHT, AND SECONDLY BECAUSE ALL OF THE DELICATE COLOURS HAVE BEEN RETAINED.
ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING TO THE SURFACE OTHER THAN A TINY SPECK ON THE CORNER TIPS
THERE ARE NO HEAVY CREASES OR DEEP CREASE LINES ANYWHERE,
ONE MINUSCULE PRESSURE LINE NEAR THE SPINE.
NONE ALONG THE TOP EDGE, AND ONE ONE THE BOTTOM EDGE .
NO THUMB LINES NEAR THE OPENING EDGE
THE TOP EDGES ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION. FULLY COLOURED AND JUST A PIN PRICK OF RUB TO THE RIGHT CORNER TIP ENDS
THE BOTTOM EDGES ARE IDENTICAL
THE SPINE IS FLAT, PERFECT LAMINATE AND UNBLEMISHED TOP AND BOTTOM ENDS
THE OPENING EDGES ARE STILL RAZOR SHARP
THE REAR SURFACE IS IN THE SAME SUPERB CONDITION AS THE FRONT. ONCE AGAIN ALL OF THE COLOURS ARE THERE, AND AGAIN NO CREASES OR CREASE LINES.
OPENING THE GATEFOLD REVEALS A PERFECT PAIR OF INNER PANELS
I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO GRADE THIS SLEEVE MINT MINUS
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BID IF YOU CHOSE TO GO FOR IT
