For sale is Bubble Puppy's debut album, A gathering of promises on the IA label from 1969. This is a 1st pressing without the RE on the deadwax. Condition overall is just ok.
As you can see from the pics, the cover sleeve is in poor condition. It has suffered some major water damage. As a result the cover paste on paper has become very fragile and wrinkled. There are some tears on the cover both in the front and back. And of course it has some major ringwear. The bottom seam is completely split and repaired with tape.
The record itself is in good condition at best, and only cause it still sounds good and doesn't skip. Visually the record is full of scratches, mostly superficial and a few deeper ones. Consequently, there is crackling throughout the whole album. Some pops and ticks here and there. Side b gets a bit better. Despite the crackling, the music still comes through pretty well. Luckily and surprisingly it didn't suffer major groove wear. labels look fine. Still an enjoyable listen if you don't mind the crackling.
Rare 1st pressing of an increasingly sought after psych classic. An ok filler.
Fantastic debut by the Texas psych band.
