THE BEATLES
HEY JUDE !
1970 1ST STEREO
CAT. NO. CPCS 106
-1/ -1 MATRICES
A rare original copy to find in condition as good as this, it is almost as good as new. Hey Jude! LP was made in the U.K. by EMI in 1970 for the export market, predominantly the USA.
Sleeve: Excellent Minus condition. Has retained its original glossy finish, bright coloration and contrast... Corners, edges and spine have no shelf-wear and are looking structurally sound and straight, minor bump to bottom right corner. No tears, rips, or repairs, scuffs, writing etc etc. Lies completely flat with no rippling, firm and slim, still shiny. There is feint ring-wear and some very tiny creases emanating from the top and bottom edges.
The Vinyl: In an Excellent Plus condition ... Has retained a jet-black glossy pressing sheen all over both surfaces and looks to have been rarely ever played. There are no warps, no scuffs, no needle drops, no groove wear, no scratches, and nothing I would call an actual hairline. The surfaces are clean and have retained their original lustre and project a strong mirror-like shine. Inspected closely there are just a handful feint wispy marks visible under light which appear to be from sleeve removal. The condition clearly shows the potential for an outstanding audio rendition and I believe is as good as ever likely to be found.
Mothers & Stampers are missing unusually except Side 1 which has a ‘2’ Mother.
Inner Sleeve: Original EMI advertising plain inner sleeve in Excellent Condition with no splits or discolouration, and neat opening seam. Has a few handling creases.
The Labels: Excellent Plus condition. Look stunning and with no play-wear to the spindle perimeters, there are just a few small localised feint spindle line traces to the spindle point.
The Audio: There are no audible detractions, no particular discernible deviation from the original audio quality. It plays as well as likely to be possible, very clear and lucid with only the very very rare occasional static type sound tic only audible in a couple of the linking grooves between tracks and perhaps in one or two of the fade’s. Lucid instrumental detail and raw original deep stereo bass channelling, and loud and punchy vocals. No jumps, no pops, no clicks, no skips, no background noise, no sticks etc. almost comparable to new record quality. The best thing about this is the audio and it is a strong Excellent Plus, as evidenced by the condition of the vinyl.
