The first item is an original United States pressing of this vinyl record album titled, "Penitentiary Blues".  This LP was released in 1969 on the SSS International record label and includes the songs CELL #33, WALKIN' BUM, ONE WAY TICKET TO NOWHERE, FUNERAL PARLOR BLUES and more.

The copy we are offering here is clean and well preserved and features the die-cut bars on the front part of the folding cover.  The only thing keeping the jacket from grading a strong and nice EX is one small drill hole in the top left corner.

The record looks like it has hardly been played and retains most of its original glossy luster.  It shows just a very light cosmetic paper inner sleeve mark at the beginning of Side 1, nowhere near being able to be felt on the grooves.  This LP grades an exceptionally strong EX.

The second item is a double-disc titled, "For The Soul And For The Mind Demos Of '71 to '74".  The first disc is a CD which includes the songs THIS OLD TRUCK, THE BOTTLE, DON'T YOU CRY, BOTTLED MEMORIES and more.  The second disc is a 3-song DVD featuring PENITENTIARY BLUES, OH WARDEN, and ONE WAY TICKET TO NOWHERE.  Both discs are in EX condition.

All of our LP's are shipped in sturdy cardboard LP mailers with appropriate padding.

With the exception of sealed LP's, all LP's are removed from their outer sleeves to prevent seam splitting.

All records are carefully graded. In an attempt to give customers an accurate impression of condition rather than adhere to somewhat arbitrary criteria, The Great Escape gives an "overall presentation" grade; we do not give a "listening" grade. Our vinyl listings are supplemented when necessary with additional remarks. For example: where some dealers will not allow a cut corner on an otherwise near mint jacket (often automatically relegating it to a VG+ at best), we may grade such a record as NM and note the cut-out mark (thereby letting you know what it "really" looks like: a near-perfect record with a cut corner). LPs are graded cover first, followed by the grade for the vinyl.
