The Beatles cut nearly 300 songs for the BBC, the vast majority during 1963 when they were recording shows on an almost weekly basis. This hectic schedule slowed down somewhat the following year but they still managed to fit in ten shows in 1964. Their swansong programme, titled The Beatles Invite You To Take A Ticket To Ride, was recorded on May 26, 1965 at the Piccadilly Theatre and hosted by Denny Piercy; also on the show were The Lorne Gibson Trio, The Hellions, The Hollies and The Ivy League.
