Don Lang Frantic Five. Introducing the Hand Jive. HMV 10" LP. DLP 1179. UK 1957.

A rare record but not one for the faint hearted. Fine if you just want to OWN it.

Vinyl: Criss-crossed with lines and scuffs, some of which can be felt with the finger nail. A test play revealed that there are all manner of issues; needle gets stuck in various places, there are skips, pops, crackles etc which is a shame because the sound is actually very good! Side 2 played through without too many problems (last track sticks) but Side 1 suffers more. If you put weight on your stylus it may play through! Oh and there is some spindle wear too. This record definitely saw some action!

Sleeve: Has been cellotaped along the top and a little further down to repair a tear at the back.  It is relatively clean and flip-backs are intact. Some laminate peel in two patches at the opening on the front. Spine has some lateral cuts along its length. VG may be optimistic but the rest of the sleeve is very passable. Please look at pictures.

Inner: Original and intact.

I will post in poly protective sleeve and record mailer using Royal Mail.

The records that I sell are from my dad's collection. He was an EMI salesman between the 50' s and 80's, so therefore I can guarantee the provenance of Factory Sample stickers. I tend to grade the records visually (unless there is an obvious need to listen) but will happily test play if requested. Generally I find that the older ones (late 50's / early 60's) play with an old vinyl crackle! I clean each record before selling.
